Me To
Can’t wait to watch it, still sadly at school
I’m really looking forward to this game. I’ve just skimmed some of the rules for building your team, but Joseph’s rules really click with me. Fun and flexibility over minute details is fine by me.
As with frostgrave, nice and tight rule set. Lots of fun to be had in team creation and the fast combat resolution (once you get it down).
Really interesting battle report
Liking the KOTOR name references
*innocent look* my ship is the sable kestrel
Never got to play Frostgrave.
It always sounded cool.
But now I see Stargrave I’m really looking forward to get into it. Looks very interesting.
Never played Frostgrave, but being a Sci-Fi fan Stargrave is more my kind of game.
I shall also toss in my hat!
Those building look like the ones in Mass Effect. Where did you get them from @Avernos?
full break down later in the week but the buildings were from Antenocities workshop, OOP now I’m afraid but I think there is someone else making very similar hex shaped buildings. I’ll find out which and put it below
Sarissa do a range of similar (in fact I thought they were the ones in the game)…

Hmmm, Antenocities Workshop is having a big sale (25-50% off), i wouldn’t have seen it without this comment, so thanks you two
oh I just found them buried in there https://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/?s=forward+base&post_type=product
Thanks. I do like the look, but more expensive than I hoped.
I’ll have to think about it.
Really wanting a game of this.
Nice to see how everyone has a ranged weapon does change the tactics from frostgrave
I am really looking forward to getting into this!
very interesting game I learned a lot more.
I still have a robot dog somewhere should I use it as a normal dog or as a robot dog or can I use it as both?
????
there are dogs, there are robots, my answer would be both, just let your opponent know
The Mask-and-Beard combo always look slightly ludicrous (I say, as another one rocking it). Almost to the point where I want to create a SG mook with it…
looking forward to seeing how this plays!
Great looking table! I’m very glad to see “Let’s Play” back in action. Good job, guys.
Stargrave, Core Space, (or any skirmish game), Justin’s main tactic is always seemingly to have a sniper up high dominating the battlefield. I wonder what mechanics/powers/equipment are available to counter this? We had similar problems in Frostgrave with Archers doing the same thing. There were a few spells (like “Wall”) that could be used to block their LoS, but it wasn’t until 2nd Edition of the rules that limited the number of Archers/Marksmen you could have before it stopped being the main tactic (the other way was to set up an extremely dense terrain on the table table with NO… Read more »
Just twat it with a grenade launcher.
I’d house rule no more than one sniper or grenade launcher per crew initially, if it isn’t already
I think they are classed as specialists and are limited … would have to read to rules to know details.
BTW As NorthStar usually have Bobby Jackson sculpt minis of the artwork in the books previously (for Frostgrave and RoSD), I can’t wait to see what he comes up with for the “Pilot” artwork used in the image with the “Rule Book & Miniature Sets Available Now” banner. He’s already done an excellent job of the Alien Bounty Hunter from the artwork (it was a metal figure given away as part of the NickStarter for Stargrave). He usually nails getting the artwork out in miniatures form (which is one of the reasons why I LOVE the Northstar metals for the… Read more »
Great video guys. It would be nice to get some close up shots on your crews.
A great lets play, but remember its day-ta not dah-ta. Just ask Jean Luc 😉
Still watching the play through but so far the best moment is Gerry bribing Justin’s sniper. Epic!
An enjoyable Let’s Play!. Like the familiar feel to Frostgrave, but as mentioned in the intro video yesterday, putting a ranged weapon in everyone’s hands makes it play very differently. I’ve gotten into Zone Raiders over the past year which scratches a similar itch, but takes a different approach to crew construction. Will most likely pick up the rules and try to get it on the table.
