Let’s Play: SPQR – Breaking Through The Lines
August 12, 2019 by crew
Gerry and Charlie from Warlord Games continue their campaign in SPQR.
Purchase SPQR at the OnTableTop Store
In this game of the campaign the Spartans are tasked with breaking through the Roman lines to the other side of the board. But they'll have to make it through a constant barrage of mercenary slingers and the Legionnaires themselves.
The game goes right down to the wire as both sides prepare for the fateful conclusion to the campaign.
Which faction in SPQR entices you the most?

Woo! more SPQR (i’m excited no matter anyone else says)
After that long weekend @avernos still looks fresh… ah the magic of video XD
I’m a wrecking machine
The more i see of SPQR,the more i like it.How many factions are covered in the brb ?
@kantor72 I have the rulebook beside me at the moment and I counted 12 – Athens, Britain, Caesar’s Legions, Dacia and Sarmatia, Gaul, Germania, Iberia, Imperial Rome, Macedonia, Persia, Sparta, Thebes. Plus there are mercenaries as well.
@Robert Cheers for that.SPQR has definitely got my interest, regardless of issues surrounding it.
The starter is great value for money, as are the hero boxes (especially if you get a bit of discount). So even if you don’t play that much, you still have the makings of a couple of armies for other games (Clash of Spears is looking good).
I also think a slightly bigger game with more units would be better as it would have more of a tactical element rather than a dice slugfest in the middle of the board.
No carthage? Interesting…
You guys seem to be having a blast playing through a variety of games. This seems to be a nice change in the format.
Nice, may the gods be with you. (not saying who).
Next game sounds very interesting, nice game rules.
30% for wining and 25% for losing… does not sound or feel alot of reward for all the trouble to win a game. Look forward to the last game, but the warbands are not growing but getting smaller….?
Enjoying these lets plays. tempted to pick up the rules
