August 8, 2024 by johnlyons
John dives into an in-depth painting tutorial of one of the most impressive Para Bellum Games miniatures in Conquest: The Last Argument Of Kings' Sorcerer Kings army. John shows you how to paint the Rakshasa Ravanar and whilst this is a unique miniature, you could use a lot of the techniques here to paint the rest of your Sorcerer Kings army.

Using a mixture of techniques John shows us how to paint animal skin patterns and how to apply it to a model that is a massive 170mm tall. Tying it into the rest of the army through the use of complimentary colours it's a fantastic look at how you alter your approach to painting big models and takes the fear out of tackling them.

Just watched this on YouTube, such a cool model. I’m starting to feel like I need to buy some weak and strong tone washes for my own painting after watching this lol.
Not a cheap mini, but so cool I might actually get it at one point
The Rakshasa is my favourite mini from this faction, followed by the Djinn and Efreet.

It’s nice to see an approach to painting things like this that works for mere mortals like us.
Augh!!! I must follow the route of our internet cat overlords and ask “I can haz?”. This would be a grand addition to a future fantasy Indian army in the works.
Nice Tutorial!
