Grey For Now Games' Graham Davey, creator of games like Test Of Honour and 02 Hundred Hours, is entering the world of Fantasy skirmish games with a new announcement this week. Would you be tempted to dive in and find out more about Guards Of Traitor's Toll?

Guards Of Traitors Toll - Grey For Now Games

Guards Of Traitor's Toll // Grey For Now Games

Currently, we have the preview image above and a description of the game over on a Facebook Group for Guards Of Traitor's Toll. Davey has mentioned that the game is a skirmish game where you'll patrol the streets of Traitor's Toll looking to take down and arrest criminals and cutthroats whilst also taking on all manner of other threats.

"The bustling city of Traitor’s Toll is home to a multitude of merchants and travellers, buskers and charlatans, sorcerers and scholars, not to mention – hidden among them – pickpockets, thieves, smugglers and worse! The task of keeping the citizens safe, catching wrongdoers and dealing out justice falls to the city guard."

The game is going to be semi-cooperative where you and another player will take control of a Guard Captain and their five Guardsmen, all of which will be 28mm in scale. You'll have to then take on different challenges like capturing escaped prisoners, battling crazed wizards, locating lost children (and cats?) or taking down smuggling gangs.

You have the same goals and you're technically working together but the Captain who manages to get the most glory and recognition will get rewards from your superiors. This will lead to gaining experience, options to recruit allies and more. Throughout all of this, you'll have to be a bit violent but killing will upset the populace! If you go too far then riots and rebellions will be sparked and both players will lose the game.

Davey has also mentioned that the game will feature a narrative and legacy element where you'll develop your skills throughout a campaign and learn interesting morsels of information that could affect later games.

If Test Of Honour and 02 Hundred Hours are anything to go by, I could see Guards Of Traitor's Toll being another great game to add to Grey For Now's library. Additionally, the cunning amongst you might have noted the image above features some suspiciously rendered individuals that are likely a hint to the upcoming miniatures we've got to look forward to.

I will also be hitting up Micro Art Studio and snagging Vimes and some of his comrades I think...
