Armies For The Greatest Wars In History? Victrix Nail Their Historical Miniatures! #OTTWeekender
February 24, 2023 by lloyd
It's OTT Weekender time! We have a look at a creator who has nailed their Historical miniatures. Victrix has created plastic miniatures in both 28mm and 12mm that would be amazing for some of the greatest wars in history.
They have covered the Ancient, Dark Age, Medieval and Napoleonic periods PLUS also started sticking their finger into World War 2. There are miniatures for pretty much any army from history you could think of in their collection.

Ooh Wow it’s weekender time, with fifty shades of Ben.
Hint, the fifty shades are all tired
Spray that again Lloyd.?
Oh… am I last again? Nice to know my place…
Victrix miniatures…..Too many bits
it’s Friday… I is tired as fuck….will I make it through the show? We will find out.
Nice looking figures from Victrix.
I have always admired the detail of victrix napoleonic range they really are a talented bunch ?
I hesitate to use the word “realistic” about 40k, but I really want models to be believable. There’s a lot in recent 40k that’s not believable.
I haven’t really liked Citadel minis since about 2000, but, in all fairness, axes the size of truck transmissions and armor more likely to injure than protect the wearer were never very realistic….
Yeah, I think the idea is to try and make the miniatures at least believable within the world they have created. I have seen some great versions of the new miniatures where they have mounted the top rockets on the backpacks – it looks so much better.
Fab show guy’s.
It’s the Weekender………
Here we go……………..
Make airbrushing easier eh..?
That’s the hope – even had me considering the idea of picking one up!
Another awesome show! Thanks guys!
Is the cat’s full name Storm.ontabletop.com?
Underrated comment ??
For branding reasons, now it is…
Thanks for the show. Ben, you’er nailing it…are we going to lose you to the BBC?
I shall be joining as a continuity announcer in the next few weeks
Definitely getting the nostalgia buzz from that Space Dwarf campaign. I wish more of the Epic style models had made it over to the range originally.
Fingers crossed that some folks will do more fun stuff like this to get people their retro fix.
I still miss the old format.
2 weeks in a row for watching the actual video show again!!! Fantastic as always gents.
Nice show! Have to agree with Warren on his 40K view (from start to finish).
Really interested in the paint for the air brushes. No matter what company I chose their airbrush paints still need to be thinned or you get a clog. Hope this goes well for them so there will be more options in the market place.
Yeah the proof will be in the pudding – I am very interested if they are able to make it a no-mess solution for airbrushing.
I’m a bit in two minds about the Victrix horses. On one hand I absolutely love them. They have great dynamism (is that a word?) and you can almost hear the hoves galloping on the field as they charge towards the enemy. They are great sculpts and some of the best horses out there for any miniatures game actually… On the other hand: historically the cavalry mostly trotted around on the battle field. They only galloped for a few minutes (as they were closing in on the enemy). So the more parade ground” look as Benn called it, is actually… Read more »
I can certainly see the trotting look working for the majority of set ups but there’s just something about that charge that catches my imagination. Best of both worlds would be to get two sets of horses and swap them out when they go from forming up to charging 😉
I’ve always loved the victrix models, not always loved the putting together of them however.
