Grab Experimental Wolsung Rules & More With Micro Art Studios
July 1, 2014 by brennon
Micro Art Studios have some more unlocks to focus in on as their Wolsung SSG Kickstarter continues and as if that wasn't enough you can now check out the experimental rules for The Scylla and Ven Rier Agents as well over on their forums!
So as you can see these have already been unlocked and if you're a backer then they'll be coming to you in the appropriate pledges. I particularly like the Lab Assistant with the part of some Tesla machine she's using as a club! Don't forget to head over to their Kickstarter page or indeed follow links to Wolsung here on the site to see their sketches of upcoming miniatures too!
Have you pledged for Wolsung?

Still struggling a bit with the cost. Taking in to account the delivery I think I’ll be waiting until retail since there’s not a lot of cost-difference when compared to the current on-line distributers. I’m certainly not complaining about what the kickstarter is charging, it’s just not attractive enough to push me in to ‘oh, what the hell’ territory – which is what I need to overcome the chances I might not like the game, or might not find anyone to play it with. I really like the sound of the game and would love to play it, but at… Read more »
TBH I have to agree. This doesn’t strike me as the sort of game where I’d need *that* much stuff (especially the cards and dice).
I’ll also wait for retail, which is good news for MAS I reckon.
Good point. Not perceiving a need for *that* much stuff to play the game might be another factor for me. Now I think about it, Kickstarters I’ve backed were often either board games (you need it all in a box anyway so why not get all the expansions too) or large squad games where there is just so much (and it’s relatively cheap) I felt I may as well get it all to feel like I could have the best game experience. If there were a Malifaux Kickstarter (which I’d see as being similar, and would hopefully increase the production… Read more »
It might make you jaded, which I think is what I’m feeling towards Kickstarters (in general, nothing against MAS here).
Kickstarter is a risk, even if you don’t lose your investment, they tend to go long on delivery, which also reduces what you receive. It isn’t just about how much you get for your money, but how long it takes for the return on the investment.
I wholly agree. To jump in at the current prices for the amount you get (I’m not doubting the quality) doesn’t make sense unless you’re already into the game and want a chunk of scenery or two new factions with rules etc.
Keeping an eye on the stretch goals though as they often swing it on top of the bundle price (e.g. Myth, Recon); so far they mostly appear to be new sculpts/models to spend points on rather than ‘value add’ items 🙁
I really want to like this game. One of the players in my group loves steampunk. This is right up her alley, but we both got turned off by the faces. The characters sculpts don’t seem sharp, especially when compared to other skirmish games we are looking at like Malifaux and especially Infinity.
I really hope they clean up the look of the mini’s and re-release them.
downloaded the rules, played the game with other models as proxies and other terrain cobbled together to substitute for their gorgeous looking stuff and loved it. I’ve not waited for the kickstarter; I’ve ordered the stuff that’s already out now.
