In this video, Gerry finishes off the big Deffstomper build. We show you how to add riveted plates of armour, metal sheets to break up the HDF texture and then do some painting too!
We cover how to paint multi-layered rust effects atop vibrant poppy colours, salt chipping and sponge chipping effects and much more.
This comes together in a tutorial that shows off a perfect way to finish not only your Deffstompers but also ANY Ork vehicle!
What do you make of the finished product?
Also, none of you guessed correctly that it was based on the Deathskulls Gargants from Grubnak’s Drop on Epsion Octarius.
Although there was a guess of a camo pattern but as Bad Moon, and a Death skull although with a Punisheresque skull
i guessed it was based after the”Greatest Movie ever Made”
Nicely done there
Nice work mate. 🙂
Wow that’s a stonking stomper Gerry.
That model is absolutely spectacular. Just goes to show how far you can go with mdf. Excellent work bringing it all together.
Great work, looks fantastic.
Now that we’ve had smoke, LED lights and electronics built into a model, I’ll be disappointed if a future Gerry Can doesn’t look at how you can design and 3d print parts to improve a model. Can’t be that hard can it?
I’ll look at it…for about 5 seconds then state it’s not worth your time and buy some lovely models by real people instead
Wow, that came out wonderfully. I may not be ready to add lighting to my work yet but this had tons of inspiration. @avernos thanks for another great tutorial!
cheers, I thought it would be nice to combine a few of the techniques that I’d shown off previously
Great feat. Would love to kill it.
Great job Gerry
It’s like Dr Frankenstein got his hands on Professor Yaffle
Excellent work Gerry
How do you get rid of the masking fluid after painting?
rub it with a fingertip, or if any is being stubborn I use a hard pencil eraser
Fantastic job Gerry. A great dive into a number of Gerry cans. Lots to think about; inspiring.
I thought only Blood Axes did ‘camouflage’ (or whatever Orks think is camouflage)
This looks good though.
nope page 11 of the second edition Guard Codex
Awesome work – particularly impressed with how you hid the MDFness of the kit. It just looks Orky now!
cheers me dear
Brilliant work Gerry.
