Geek & Sundry Launch a New Show Arcade Arms!
May 15, 2014 by brennon
Arcade Arms is the new show from Geek & Sundry where they take video game and geek culture weapons and then forge them before smashing things to pieces. You can check out the first episode above with Nika Harper as they craft the Mace of Molag Bal...
Quite the mighty weapon and suitably demonic. It's certainly an awesome idea for a show and one that's been done before with Man At Arms but always awesome to see these kind of things being made into reality. I think that finished product is worthy of a demonic prince.
My first thought when I was watching the smashing of things was that they need to grab themselves some of those ballistic gel dummies they used on Deadliest Warrior to get the proper wow factor of blood and bone going everywhere. Lovely.
What do you think?
Is there a way to get Nika on the Weekender?
Would that not be too many mighty weapons on the same show 😉
Braggart…
I need one of those things, just as an insurance when going out 😉
Sounds pretty ruff round your way!
Pretty cool show actually. Can’t wait for other episodes 🙂 I would like to see them get the gel dummies for the same reason BOW Ben said.
Am I the only one who really did not like any bit of this show?
Based only off this one episode, it appears to be a cheesy (oriented towards 15 year olds) more video game oriented show. Too much cheesy “smash” and not enough substance. It was well produced in terms of content for the most part, but they could have done a better editing job and perhaps focused on making a show for intelligent adults rather than kids. But hey that is youtube and the internet … par for the course.
I actually liked the building section. The program is a little overproduced and it is disappointing that TableTop needed to crowd source to stay around yet, this got picked up. Great idea for a show and maybe it will mature a bit but, right now it is below par. I will give it another go and that may be it.
So this is basically man-at-arms with more lore and more demonstration? I can live with that.
It seems to be a man-at-arms with less substance and intelligence behind it and more 15 year old oriented “lets smash stuff” … oh and the Token cute geek girl. For some that is a dream, for me … meh … kind of a waste of time I’d say. But I’m old and grumpy so there ya go … 🙂
Awesome! “Can we watch it again?” – Clara
Well……….I watched it to the end just to give it the best chance, but, my conclusion is thus:- a total waste of 10:45! Why would anyone find this ‘trash’ entertaining? I think most of us are grown up people who do not need 12 year old entertainment fodder, if so we can just watch most of the trash that gets posted to youtube each day! If BOW are serious about appealing to the majority of post adolescent gamers, then drop this s**t and concentrate on quality, as per Warrens claim in this weekender. To quote a line from a very… Read more »
Erm, if it’s freezing ass cold, why is your coat unzipped? Are you daft or something?
And I really liked to deep and characterful motivation of the main bad guy, really makes me want to play this game and delve into its intricate narrative…
Love the concept, pretty good execution, but I cannot stand that host. I find her annoying, obnoxious and a bit juvenile. But that’s just my opinion, the weapon looked awesome all the same:-P
