Firelock Reveal Pirate Skirmishes In New Game, Port Royal!
February 27, 2024 by brennon
Firelock Games have recently announced their new skirmish game of piratical proportions coming to Kickstarter in Spring. Port Royal will dive into the brutal skirmishes on the streets of Port Royal between vagabonds and cutthroats...and that's just amongst the navy!
Port Royal Rulebook // Firelock Games
Port Royal is a campaign-based, small-scale warband-size skirmish game that Firelock has made quick and easy to learn. It is based loosely around the 1692 earthquake that hit Jamaica. Those who dive in will be able to take control of small bands of Pirates, Privateers, Native Americans, African Maroons and the local government forces that are battling it out for plunder and territory in the ruins left behind by the earthquake.

Your crew will gain loot and experience between your games, allowing you to grow in infamy and expertise, taking on bigger and bolder challenges. Additionally, other crews aren't your only goes as the ruins of Port Royal might end up collapsing on you! You'll also have to contend with wild animals, desperate civilians and other crews/companies looking to do you in!

Port Royal will be coming in the Spring to Kickstarter and if this has already got you intrigued, a Facebook Group is waiting for you to dive into right now. Start sharing your thoughts with fellow pirates and delve into the potential available when it comes to terrain crafting.
It all feels very much like Blood & Plunder meets Mordheim which can only be a good thing. I could see this being a fun one for folks to dive into, especially if they already have big collections for the game. It's also a perfect opportunity for folks to use the plastic kits for your crews that got added to the range.
What do you think of the Port Royal news?
