Dark Age Week: Faction Spotlight – The Kukulkani
May 6, 2016 by dignity
It's time to look the stars again with another Faction Spotlight for the world of Dark Age. Now we're checking out the deadly Kukulkani!
These warriors are far flung ancestors of the Mayans and were to the stars by ancient alien masters.

The Kukulkani are deadly reconfigured killing machines who are eager to engage their foes in battle.
What do you make of them?

I like the idea of these guys getting stronger as things get killed and the big temple of doom guy is one of the most unusual designs I have seen in quite a while
Really liking the look of these guys!
the game mechanics sounds fun, and I like the look of them 🙂
Ohhh was thinking my faction would be The Fire cast but after this not so sure Hmmmmm…
They Looks like the Mayans but no Bounty hunters with them !! and those bounty hunters looks so nice! so for me it still Forsaken as my first choice
Kukulkani: Your death makes me stronger. My death makes me stronger. All the death makes me stronger!
As soon as you showed these slightly at the beginning of the week, I have been waiting for this episode. This is my faction, remind me of all my time travelling around Latin America on my gap year. Death only makes us stronger is such a cool mechanic. Suddenly tactics alter dramatically, not only am I now sacrificing models to buy me time in game, but it is making any counter attack more brutal. Late game faction for sure
cool idea .
Beside the Bounty Hunters is this also a very nice faction, i think this will be a blast for the painting
The honor guard look amazing, so much good stuff in this game I don’t know where to start
You sure know how to take away my money.
I think this is the most interesting faction so far, both in regard to mechanics and looks.
I will admit, at first, when I saw Dark Age I was thinking: “meh, another post apocalyptic setting”, and I didn’t really like the style of the different factions, they felt a bit generic to me, but these guys! These guys are really cool, I like the back story, the minis are awesome and the walking temple rocks (in more ways than one).
Kukulkani are lovely!
The first faction that I actually saw for Dark Age and one that really is quite a brilliant prospect. Having seen the card for the Cabrakan when it is fully powered up it seems like it is indeed a nightmare to deal with.
I love the huge golem like figure, always have been a big fan of big minis, mainly because I like to try and intimdate my opponent on the battlefield at tge start f a game with big minis.
Dark God: “What is best in Dark Age?”
Kukulkani: “Pick your enemies’ hearts out, see them tumble down the steps of your Ziggurat space ship, and listen to the despair of their Samaria.”
^^
Ancient sunken civilisations and advanced technology – somehow they just make a lovely couple.
Oh i really like the minis and background of these
I love the game mechanics seem to really differ between factions.
These paint jobs are SICK!
Can’t go wrong with Mayans in space 🙂
really liking the backstory & the models, torn between these, the outcasts & the dragyri at the moment
I would imagine that their tech does not brake down on the battlefield any where near as often as the other factions. Interesting art style, it should be fun to see what subfactions will be coming from them.
I love the design of the honour guard, the use of mythology with alien technology, and the mechanic for buffing your figures the more models that die around them. This is another strong contender for my favourite faction. If I win any models, I suspect I will end up collecting multiple forces, which is something I do not usually do.
This is one cool faction! Makes me want to make a Ziggurat space shuttle (because the mothership would BE the table) out of insulation foam and other bits and bobs. That’d be cool to fight over a ziggurat spaceship!
