Great looking table. Are the buildings permanently assembled or can you collapse them for storage? Looking forward to the show, I could do with all the help I can get lol.
These ones are kinda permanent, but you could leave them unglued – they wont look as nice, but they will flat pack!
I always leave them unglued for that reason. It’s not a big problem but when you’ve got some troops on the building the roof starts to give way a bit. The building stays up though.
Kudos gents, that really does look awesome! Was lucky enough to get in on the Games and Gears battle board Kickstarter end of last year and have got their DZC board and 28mm cityscape coming through in the coming weeks. I had been undecided on ether to go full-on overgrown or keep it clean with just a little bit of weathering, but seeing how yours turned out am deffinitly going to go for the “I am legend” approach too. Great tip with the clay too.
OMG Great looking table keep up the nice work boys 🙂
Ok, now I have to build one of these!
Most importantly, how well does dice roll on the table?
Great looking table. Can’t wait for the new series!
I would also give it a dusting of matte varnish. Cut down the sheen on the cardboard pieces!
Selecting the right Matte varnish is the issue we’re having, the plasticote stuff is crap – may need to try army painter
@warzan you will have to repaint your army to make it worthy of playing on such a spectacular table!
Good to see you went for the raised middle section. It looks really good with the tunnel/underpass.
Awesome table. I like all the little details. Looking forward to see more about the building techniques in a future Hobby Lab.
beautiful little table there, well done guys.
All I can say is WOW.
Awesome board guys. I have a hobby erection for this upcoming DZC series.
“I feel loved”, (sniff).
YOU WILL NOT TEMPT WITH ANOTHER GAME!
*heads over to Amazon to order Dropzone Commander*
Crap!
hm. no dropzone commander figures in my collection.. what to do?
Two options. A) buy some Dropzone Commander 🙂 B) … seriously … my 15mm WW2 and Modern vehicles and figures are too big for this board, but New Millennium Toys, Takara, and others have produced some great 1/144 pre-paints (works out roughly to 10mm, which I think DZC is). The buildings on the table might look a little modern for a WW2 setting, but some old 1980s-1990s “Fulda Gap” games could easily play on this epic table as a Soviet/East German assault on Munich, Hamburg, Bremen, etc. Or just go full modern near/future … Maybe Chinese Type 88s, 90s, and… Read more »
That city will be perfect for Robotech when it finally arrives, thanks for the ideas fella’s.
You look very scary when you say we are giving it to us Warren, maybe don’t hold your hands out like that, or I may think you come from Wales….or New Zealand 🙂
lol
I love how the flocking follows the cracks and seams of cement, great attention to detail. I can’t wait for the tactical breakdown shows to begin.
It looks a wee bit shiny, the bane of card-based terrain. Maybe a whiff of matt varnish could sort that out?
yeah we have a matt varnish spray but we were getting a strange patchy look form it so going to look for some other options in the future.
Oh – I just assumed it had just rained 😉
cool looking board, I’m getting a new flat soon, so I hope I’ll have enough storage space to get a similar going.
Great video! So when is the new series coming out? Or if I missed it some how where can I find it?
