Hawk Wargames: Dropfleet Commander Battle Boxes Announced
August 2, 2017 by crew
Dave from Hawk Wargames has joined us again this week to announce something big for Dropfleet Commander, those of you who may be into their tournament games will be pleased to know that Dropfleet Commander is now available with Battlefleet Boxes.
Where the starter sets come with an average of 750 points, these Battlefleet Boxes average around 1250 points which are perfectly suited for larger games or tournament play with your friends at home.
Check Out The Tournament Rules Video Here
When purchasing these boxes, please bear in mind that you have the customizability to create a varied amount of ships for your sets. We recommend that you read up and make your list before you begin to build your list.
Which is your favourite piece of Dropfleet artwork?

These are a great idea. Had I not most of what I wanted in the Kickstarte I would be very tempted to get me one of these boxes 🙂
You can always have more ships …
Then again, what am I saying ? I haven’t even started on mine *eep*
This is so true, however as I was an Admiral backer for the Kickstarter I got a fair few ships to start with, I still have the equivalent of one of these sets to build for Shaltari and UCM, I also have my project to build two of each ship for the scourge and I have the equivalent of the PHR starter set to build (I sold off most of my PHR to a hme where the PHR will get some loving as I really am not a fan of the PHR).
It’s a great move and should bring more people to the game. The only question I have is if the markers, clusters and debris fields are bundled together with the rulebook or if those only come with the 2 player starter box. If available only in the 2 player box then you’re in practice forcing the players to buy that box, but if the markers, clusters and debris fields are available elsewhere then it should be fine. If you would want to get even more people in the game, I’d suggest to place a free pdf rulebook (without any fluf)… Read more »
While the extra bits in the 2 player starter set are nice to have … they aren’t needed to play the game.
You can pretty much use any kind of token to denote cities and such.
It’s not as pretty, but until you’ve learned the basics it’s not essential.
The tournament rulebooklet already has scenarios as part of the download, so that’s covered already.
I like these for the scale of what is in the box, especially for the savings over RRP and the artwork is glorious – Dave – do those as screensavers!
Suggestion: how about terrain, deployment assets and spacestation big boxes – maybe not quite on this scale but they would be handy
What you get in that space station box is more than enough for most scenarios, unless you want to build that gigantic BoW space station they had at bootcamp ….
The DFC sprues are so versatile these are basically a spaceship ‘Lego’ set. If you’re smart about it and are willing to do a bit of scratch building you can easily squeeze a lot more ships out of this box than what is presented on the back.
deploy the fleet.
Looking good. It’s getting harder and harder to resist this game 🙂
i’m a big fan of the infinity army boxes, much better jump off point than starter sets, so these are a win for me. the Shaltari and Scourge art is gorgeous, starter set boxes get binned but these would remain on my shelf looking all sexy.
Could possibly get this set, even though i got a far amount of the KS, and as i always say………………..You can never have enough shiny, or a bigger fleet to play with.
Liking the Battle Fleet set`s, and if i was to get one it would have to be the “UCM” hands down.
Ive been wanting to get into this for a while myself. Maybe this will be my way in?
Great value sets for getting yourself a tournament fleet out of the box and great to see so many people being lured into the game with these sets!
