The first time I came up against an Oppressor I was pretty lucky, I had a 4 bases of Occupational Vets in a battle bus and managed to orchestrate the best drive by shooting of all time. I managed to get 3 energy 11 shots against it by combined fire… this was followed by rolling 3x 6’s which caused 6 points of damage killing it straight out. It was one of those times when you just have to apologise for your rolling.
I would have split the guns on the 2 Gladius, one with the claw for an almost sure kill 2 point of damage on 4 attacks…and the other would have a ok chance of killing the other maybe even using the tesla with it
@warzan the link to the frontstage show seem to be wrong
I just love the Scourge models. Don’t know if I’ll ever get to play the game, but I’m definitely getting some Scourge models to paint.
@aurorainbag – the game is just awesome. Pick up a starter set if you can: the two armies are very well balanced. It doesn’t include anything very exotic, so you’ll want to pick up some extra units pretty quickly, but it’s a very good set for not just learning the rules but for having some very fun and close games.
The Oppressor is a pretty straightforward unit to use. It is tough, hands out the pain, and has to be moved into the fray to have an effect.
It doesn’t have any tricks that’ll surprise an opponent, but you won’t be using up valuable brain power wondering what to do with it.
I love the Oppressor model, although don’t have a clue how to put it into an army. When I’ve seen others use one their armies all seem to be very ‘bitty’. Effective, maybe, but lacking much theme (in my opinion). I don’t think I’ve ever seen one be taken with lots of other Scourge walkers, which also look amazing, but I struggle to work out how I’d make a slow Scourge army work. Especially given that I struggle to make a fast Scourge one work!
