Take a look and let us know what you think...

Afrika Korps Vehicles by suetoniuspaullinus

Leading the way this week we have some more amazing miniatures painted up by the masterful suetoniuspaullinus. Here we have a selection of his Afrika Korps vehicles for battles in the sands of North Africa.

Afrika Korps #1 by suetoniuspaullinus

These models have been painted with the same care and attention that he always puts into his models and with added doses of character here and there drawn out through his techniques.  Special attention should be given to the weathering that has been done to these vehicles which helps to give them a grounded place within the tabletop world of the mid 20th Century.

You can see more of his work here below showing off another tank as well as some more infantry figures and that wonderful truck.

Afrika Korps #2 suetoniuspaullinus

Hopefully, we'll see more from this painting machine in the weeks to come as this Afrika Korps force takes shape. We're sure he would also be welcome to share any tips you might want to get out of him for getting the most out of your modern models.

Tyranid Carnifex by lawnor

Next up we're turning our attention back to Warhammer 40,000. As you might have heard it's having a bit of a resurgence at the moment thanks to 8th Edition and here we have a Tyranid Carnifex painted by lawnor.

Carnifex #1 by lawnor

The model is looking suitably terrifying. Whilst there's very little character in a Tyranid force, it being a swirling mass of angry limbs, you can see a sense of scale here in this model that would terrify the enemy as it approached. We liked that it's positioned as if roaring at the enemy, ready to smash its foes to pieces with those talons.

Carnifex #2 by lawnor

You can see a few more angles of this beast above and then over on the forum thread as well. It truly is quite the monstrous beast and these massive monsters are the reason you collect Tyranids. As focal points for your army, you don't get much better than this.

Motte & Bailey by hutch

Last but not least we have this Motte & Bailey which was built by hutch who has been showing off a number of different projects. This is how it looked in its raw state, cobbled together from plenty of wood and a healthy mound of foam.

Motte & Bailey #1 by hutch

From there it took on a dreary and suitably Medieval tone to its design and you could just imagine this sitting on a rainy moor after the events of 1066 in the Early Medieval period.

Motte & Bailey #2 by hutch

As quite a packed and closely defended piece of real estate this would be a fascinating piece of terrain to drop into your skirmishing games. You could have a bit of fun assaulting this with marauding mercenaries trying to get their hands on a noble's gold.

Motte & Bailey #3 by hutch

More images of this terrain piece can be seen over on hutch's blog HERE giving you a sense of its scale. It's great that it has the working drawbridge and that small space near the front for some combat inside the walls as well as out of it. Now hutch just needs to build the village that springs up around these castles and we'll have the makings of quite the impressive gaming table.
