weekend starts now…first again…you lucky devil
Happy Weekend,
GMEM
and so it begins
…the great war of our time?
Kosh is that you?
Small… or very far away?
It’s the Weekend!
To answer your clickbait title – I doubt it. No matter how much better another game may be, many Games Workshoppers lack the imagination to consider alternatives much like Apple Fanboys and Teslerati. Suggestions of alternatives are acts of heresy that may undermine their self-belief and lead them to question other life decisions.
You gotta play the YT game 😉
I think a lot more people are willing to look at alternatives now compared to perhaps a few years a go. I hope folks give Deadzone a fair shake.
If posible i will demo Deadzone V3 at SPIEL Essen.
“many Games Workshoppers lack the imagination to consider alternatives much like Apple Fanboys and Teslerati”
harsh.
Maybe many people just happen to know what they like and are happy to stick with that company / product.
I liken it to being a football fan, you pick the team you support and stick with it, you don’t suddenly just switch because Real Madrid are doing better.
Yay weekender time is apone us.
love the barbarian shouting Aah me back.?
Love the thumb-nail
I’m more inclined to try Deadzone over Kill Team. I have the minis to do either but I just think Mantic’s rules seem more fun
It’s the Weekender, the Great Trilogy!
a coding guard is that a nut shield Gerry ?
Ooh great looking non squat squats ?
100% agree with Gerry! Deadzone is way much better than KT. I have been playing this game since it came out and it’s my favorite miniatures game. Also, Marauders are definitely the best faction in the Warpath universe. They are immune to the plague virus.
Boots boots heresry.
Nice one guy’s.
Deadzone 2 was such a pain to assemble that I never finished it and the cuboid terrain was boring, so I won’t be buying 3rd edition.
But Killteam requires a large expense to upgrade, so I won’t be buying that either.
New editions are coming out too often and the lack of backward compatibility is irritating…. Descent, Arkham Horror, Kill Team etc.
If I buy something now I need to really like the game (Journeys In Middle Earth), or it has to be something innovative, have amazing miniatures… in short… it needs to be special.
Oh, I have a small Rebs team from the first iteration of Deadzone, absolutely no one to play with however.
Good show guys as normal
Was thinking maybe send someone to this https://www.partizan.org.uk/?fbclid=IwAR0HC4RD8fS6llwJZThN_J1NZ4yxxF4zY7R3de_Cj9iP01p4inNNZ1Ru1nQ
Would be good to see you there
Deadzone is a great game, if i wanted to play a 40k kill team sized game, i would almost definetely go down the route of using Mantic rules with 40k models instead of playing Kill team
I honestly thought there’d be a lot more in the show’s discussion point than there was. In short it could have been the compare and contrast between Kill Team and Dead Zone that I want all genres to go through. If you are going to look at them like that you should put Infinity and Necromunda into the debate as well. Personally I think GW fixed most of the problems in the previous Killteam, and created a bunch of new ones. The Compendium is hot garbage, there is no list building or feeling of ownership in creating a Killteam anymore… Read more »
There was a rule with Deadzone 1st Edition that was the “trigger” to get me to buy it (it was then later dropped in 2nd Edition), and it was THE best rule for any skirmish game (with firearms). Basically it was easier to suppress a target if it was in hard cover (ie it had something to hide behind), so instead of cover being the “best” position to be in you had a double edge sword from the position. It was pretty hard to “kill” infantry in hard cover, but you could pin them down so they couldn’t fire. Troops… Read more »
they didn’t take supression out, it was renamed fire for effect
Yup, but they removed the bonus for shooting at targets in hard cover from the first edition (so it acts like suppression fire in just about any other skirmish game). It was that slight variation in the first edition rules that made such a big change to how the game played 🙂
Deadzone huh.
Guess I better buy all of it.

Maybe not the asterians
If there’s an all Klyishi kill team I’d like to try. Bows are weird in sci fi but I loved my bikini elves in Dreadball
Are Deadzone 3rd edition dice the same as 2nd edition?
yup
Oh dear @brennon … Speedball Special…
It’s a Fastball Special…
Go to detention and read some X-Men Comics…
Well, I was close I guess…
Deadzone looks very cool! Welcome to the weekend folks!
