Happy Sunday! Shortest XLBS ever? Love the Assassins creed project but that Moonstone project could tempt me to give that game a look!
Where’s the Saga? I may have to do some Saga hobby in the hope is gets mentioned.
The painting is the most relaxing for me. I get into a happy place. I love the prep and planning for a new project, but the painting is where my Zen zone is.
I have a picture like Gerry did, drawn for every Warhammer (especially Dogs of War), KoW and ancients army I’ve ever built.
I honestly cannot praise Moonstone enough. The game is great and full of fun, quirky mechanics, and the minis are absolutely gorgeous!
Happy Sunday!
Definitely without the research of the game universe I couldn’t get into the mood for anything related to the hobby. And a good, well developed background story just makes the game so much more alive. That’s why BattleTech is still among my top favourite games/universes. Same goes for Dropzone and Dropfleet Commander universe.
And yes @avernos – ripping the supports from the 3D print is REALLY satisfying…
Happy Sunday,
i hope you guys have a good one. Please dont forget to hit an old person and also watch the Greatest Movie ever Made.
You seem to big a big fan of Slade @brennon What is your favourite cuppa soup flavour?
I think of my Loverman and watch the Greatest movie ever made. then i go off to dream land
Master and commander is a great film, enjoy it every time I watch it. I think my happy hobby place has to be my garden with the paints out – with a mug of tea. It’s quiet, relaxing and as long as I pay the cat some attention now and then it’s become areal sanctuary
‘theres a rent, in the skoi’.
‘ooright Gladys, poot a mask on, its toime for the Caaaarnevol.’
Happy Sunday!
I think you’ll find that Slade came from Wolverhampton not Birmingham! That’s used up both my list of facts about Slade and Wolverhampton…
Don’t think there are any more
Back in the Wargames Mongrol Days myself and Kevin were nicknamed the Slade Possie by a Londoner.
Happy Sunday! Relaxation in wargaming. Similar to Gerry, the whole range of activities in the hobby is what I spend my free time on. And I spend my free time on it because it entertains and relaxes me. That said I guess I find the painting most relaxing. Though… In an odd way… Painting has also been so engaging that I have ended up in a flow and gone to bed two or three hours later than I intended. So is it really relaxing if it is stimulating and engrossing? Maybe not understanding what relaxation equates to or means to… Read more »
Happy Sunda….. 39 minutes? And then a week without? I already fell symptoms of withdrawal! Coffee at the ready, go! 00:21 Newsflash: Ben killed by Pascal 00:50 Pascal! 02:00 Now I need to look up what “Peaky Blinders” is… 03:30 @bexx? Never read that name in forum. Why not? Come to the forum! 😉 07:00 Waldorf and Stadler… my heroes 08:00 Ass Creed *giggles* 11:30 I haven’t seen any game in person lately… but that’s mostly on me. 12:30 Surprise! 13:30 DOH! XD 16:20 Rigging? What rigging? I can’t see any rigging… 19:00 List building? That’s… almost pure maths… we… Read more »
Hello! Sorry for the hugely late entrance. I’m still figuring out what’s where on here (technology is not my forte lol).
No worries. I lure everybody to the forum XD
I shall have to dive in for sure.
Morning. When the sun is out and I can paint miniatures whilst sitting in the garden… I am relaxed and in a happy place. ?
And I’ll be off there now to continue with my Spring Clean Challenges! ?
I am a bit like Gerry. Everything except the gaming relaxes me.
I have to be careful what I put on on youtube, no overviews of kickstarter feedback or some guys playing a game that don’t know the rules and then break down the game of how bad it is but then it is not the hobby that riles me up.
Good show. What relaxes me, with a month old baby and a toddler in his terrible twos, is a quick dive into my hobby room, where I brush away the cobwebs before having a quick look at the glass showcase with armies and warbands in various stages of completion…
I SHALL RETURN
(That, and listening to the XLBS during a walk of course!)
Morning. All ready for next week. Nice one Ben,List building is relaxing, forgotten how much fun it is. Tend to play more narrative type games these days so it tends to be more what looks fun than how useful it is. Closest I got was trying to pick an effective Light 2nd Line Clan force for my, Battletech Battle Report. Which was a bit hampered by the sheer choice of Mech Variants on Mech Factory. Trying to max my Aradne Army or Infinity Code one to face my Combined Army which is a list based on what little I’ve got.… Read more »
Happy XLBS Show Day COGz.
The tree stumps are like oldman willow that’s been sentenced to life imprisonment ?
Your tree is wrong Ben playing should be at the top as it’s least likely one to get to.
Surprise Just like the Ukrainian’s with tanks then ?
The enemy of my enemy is the cannon fodder? Ben.
My hobby time is looking for stuff I’ve stuck in a corner because I’ve had to stop for some reason an not getting any further because I have to stop again AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH.
You should try rigging that’s therapeutic getting the tension right? @avernos .
A brilliant show Guy’s. I’m not sure if the Liverpool fan’s will agree with you Gerry ?
Happy Sunday.
A very tightly scripted episode.
Recently I’ve found painting miniatures while having an interview of a miniature painter on in the background is very relaxing to me. Time goes by and before I know it it’s either time to eat or my back is aching and in need of a stretch.
Our Gerry promoting the blindboy podcast.
Yert Gerry, Yert.
When I want to relax, I watch Klaus Kinski go nuclear on YouTube. DU DUMME SAU!!!
