I am probably misunderstanding Ben’s mods and I get the move part but isn’t then having the ‘then I shoot’ part of the turn not just delaying the whole potential alpha strike scenario happening again?
The player with priority getting to shoot first has a bonus of course but because the secondary player has been able to move immediately after seeing the priority player’s choices, they can duck into cover/run away etc and react before the priority player just hoses them down.
Because the secondary player has also had the chance to cast psychic powers and such as well before then, they should be able to mitigate being utterly shot off the table knowing they’ll have to go second.
I dont really know 40k rules anymore but is there overwatch still?
Yep. You spend a Command Point and any unit can do Overwatch.
What happened to Sam and the other guys after the Wayland Yutani Corp takeover?
No idea, they all left years before that happened. Sam still does RPGs with Ben I think
Yep I still play Warhammer Fantasy RP with Sam and Lance 🙂
They are still selling D&D in Japan – here’s an ad for it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emZeMwKXHdE
yeah I saw that recently but I have no idea if they kept the manga styling
Get yourself some fluffy rattle mice off amazon Warren, kittens dig Playing fetch ?
Happy Sunday! 00:00 LIFT-OFF 00:20 Crash! 00:50 Cat! Show! 02:15 Mist…. German word for shit. Like cow-sheet. So more “dung” than shit. Also I had a cat called “Mivie” once… short for Mist-Vieh (Vieh being German for animals on farms, you do the rest) 03:30 purring is when they eat your soul 16:20 Bot War? Never heard of her! 17:00 not looking not looking not looking 24:15 First rule of bushido club: don’t play the game. Second rule: don’t talk about the games played. 27:25 90% Jeebus! That’s scary. 30:00 The camera is spooked! 31:00 Rimming… not looking that up… Read more »
Stratagems is what ruined 40k for me. Never thought 40k was a great ruleset, but still enjoyed playing it. When stratagems were introduced, i liked the idea, just these little things here and there to give you a little boost (like the command re-roll, giving the option to overwatch or counter charge). And then the codexes started rolling in, with these ridiculous stratagems which meant my army could be wiped off the board before ive even had a turn.
i like the idea of the new turn structure, and would definetely improve the game i think.
Mis Teeq and Strom, I’m moved you’ve named them after my favourite girl group and ice hockey team – truly moved.
Morning XLBSer peeps
You can tell when the Japanese are miffed at the prices of goods you’ll see zero’s embedded in buildings ?!?!??
Ooh Warren’s back on the energy drinks.
Anything that simplifies the 40k tombs of rules is worth checking out.
I did love road rash on the PSP back in the day.
Road Redemption is worth a look too (which can be found on most modern day systems) its a bit of a spiritual successor
Happy Sunday.
Two lots of interesting rules there.
Three great projects…,
…and a special guest. What’s not to love. A most enjoyable episode.
That was a great show guy’s, nice to see new blood on the XLBS Show.
@caesar Inspiration time, go! Warzan’s (patent pending) Purrfect Relaxation Station… a reclining lounge chair with Myst and Storm held up to either side of his head, they purr and he snores
HAPPY SUNDAY…..
I only recently learned about the issues with GW pricing. With the exchange rate being favorable I thought id take a look at forgeworld, until I realized that not only were they not going to let me buy in pounds, but they were gonna charge me way more than it would have cost when the exchange rate was at its worst.
Oh well, guess ill stick to good games after all
Ben I liked modifications you are talking about it seems like it would keep both players in the game . This sounds like a great idea .
@Ben I like the sound of your 40k mod, almost makes want to play that game again to try it… Almost.
I’ll have to check out the Getting Tabled channel then. For whatever reason I’ve never tracked down any of my local content creators.
No, Jason, you’re not wrong. That is the metal sprue clipped from these minis. The idea was to use it to represent piping across the ground.
Yay I got a thing right.
Its hidden amazingly well, watching me trying to figure that out made me feel stupid lol
crackin XLBS, thanks lads 😀
There once was a small games company (in Germany I belive) witch produced Blood Race – a Bike Race boardgame. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/9070/blood-race
Oooh amazing find! Never heard of this, this looks pretty good especially given its 23 years old.
Great show once again! And very interesting to hear about your homebrew games! I’ve got two lying around which I don’t know what to do with, really. They could seriously benefit from some playtesting, but I have no time myself…
