Happy Sunday CoGs and OTTers!
Happy Sunday to all the Otters, except for F@BHKWHD to you I say, May all your underware be three sizes too small.
Ouch! It must pinch so tight
For a game like the one @avernos is wanting to run for bolt action it might be an idea to ot 7se use points and just as everyone to bring a platoon built as it woukd have been for real starting with what woukd have been the original paper strengths?
John could use bears as Japan is littered with wild bears.
I’d recommend tanuki but @dignity might try and attack them with snips. @warzan might need to keep his monopoly on the fantastically oversized endowments.
Another joyous Sunday morning – thanks chaps!
@johnlyons It’s good to see that the models were printed so quickly and that there is already work on the applicable stat lines. I’ll guess we see zenith/speedpaint on these per your want of easy paint jobs.
@avernos How could anyone get anywhere without our friendliest curmudgeon? We may never know.
@brennon Now there’s a man who knows a Sharpe pair of paints
@lloyd Taking notes on playlists? Sheesh, talk about riding the gaming coattails of our resident wookie. Would you follow the lead of @ewokkebab and go using a modified Goblin list full of Sharpsticks and Fleabags?
I think John needs to set up a separate site for his Samurai project to help him fund his many addictions.
Might I suggest “Oni Fans”?

I’m picturing a montage. Lloyd vs. John getting samurai armies on table top. Cue Eye of the Tiger. John searching and downloading files from MyMinifactory. Lloyd opening Christmas boxes of ready painted samurai. John concentratedly placing files in slicer. Lloyd faffing with trains. John downloads sliced files to USB and briskly walks towards a 3d printer. Lloyd in his shed with a moisture meter, shaking his head. John shaking a resin bottle, pouring a vat full, printer starts. Lloyd researching shields online. John cleaning up prints, glueing to bases . Lloyd with trains again. John priming and zenithing the miniatures.… Read more »

Good to see the 3d prints looking so good and very interesting insight in to Gerry’s army building method.
Really like Ben’s “bolt action” (any game) campaign ideas
So, coming to this ine a week late – because that’s how I roll, I would have gone with Basileans as the base army for John’s Samurai. You have both Ogres and Elohi which you could proxy using the Oni and Tengu. There’s also a nice spirituality in Japanese culture that could (as some sort of lore) act as a proxy for the highly religious elements of the Basileans.
