Happy Sunday,
Lets all watch the Greatest Movie ever made in the Heat
what brings me joy and happiness besides the Greatest movie ever made is my best friend and life partner.
What I’m enjoying most about gaming at present is writing for my RPG group. The no deep back story. No epic tales. We’re just having fun.
It’s the XLBS SHow……..Happy Sunday Fellow CoGs! I do believe that I have seen @johnlyons smile more in this episode then in any other episode! Well DONE John! Queston: What makes me enjoy the hobby right now? ***Where do I start!*** Well, here is the latest trigger tripper!!! Finding multiple sets of Rules that can be used with a single set miniatures. For instance, I’ve been working on ‘Black Seas’ ship miniatures. I have the rules of course that came with the game in the Master and Commander box, 1) ‘Black Seas’ and it’s expansion 1.a) ‘Hold Fast’ but I… Read more »
Fantastic show to chill out with on a Sunday morning! Great to see the skill of diorama building and scale modelling and the discussion around ‘recycling’ bits to create scenes from a narrative inspiration.
Best inspiration comes from this community! ?
Scale modelling and dioramas was what introduced me to the hobby 40 years ago – first with Tamiya 1:32 WW2 tanks and then Ral Partha and Citadel miniatures. Now every mini I paint, I try to tell a story so that they each become a wee diorama in their own right or combine with other minis to create a narrative ensemble. The project system on BoW/OTT has enabled me to express myself and get such positive feedback and motivate me onwards. If I get one score or thumbs up, the fact that one other person likes my efforts is so… Read more »

So enjoyable to read @sundancer! You are the chronicler of happiness… ???
Happy Sunday.
What makes me happy is just seeing other people enjoying and getting fun from their hobby. I especially like it when someone new posts on a Facebook group for a game I like and they’ve shared pics of their very first game or their first warband. Even if their painting or table isn’t up to full “expert” standard it’s nice to see people do their thing because they enjoy it.
Dragon Rampant or Oathmark for fantasy rules in my view. Oathmark is a bit less ‘sandbox’ but is a really good game. Saga AoM would work as well.
And Thud and Blunder for Skirmish. Totally sandbox and you could easily turn your rpg character into leader of a warband.

Question?
clever answer
so when is boo camp happening?
There’s oathmark as an alternative ruleset. Worth a look if not considered.
