Warhammer: The Horus Heresy fans are going to be getting a big new force to add to their games soon. The Cult Mechanicum from Games Workshop are ready to defend Mars and strike out into the galaxy, looking to protect their secrets and most importantly, they are all in plastic!

Leading the way is the new Archomagos Prime (above). They command the various clanking creations of the Mechanicum on the battlefield with their vast intelligence but can also lend a hand in the heart of combat. This fellow comes armed with a conversion beamer, a volkite serpenta and a corposant stave which is good at engaging in a bit of disintegration.
The bulk of your force is then made up of the shambling hordes of Adsecularis Tech-Thralls.

These soldiers of Mars were once humans but have been augmented to meet the needs of the Tech-Priests. They aren't completely void of personality or thought like Servitors but are still mere puppets, sent to dive in droves so that the greater creations within the Mechanicum arsenal can do what is required. Their superior numbers might be enough to swarm any would-be attackers, burying them under an avalanche of flesh and steel.
If you're looking to introduce some more augmented muscle into your army then you also have the Thallax Cohort.

The six Thallax in the box are armed with lightning guns and can traverse the battlefield easily thanks to their jet packs. That could be a big surprise for your enemy as they descend on an objective. There are humans within those metal bodies as the Thallax are cyborgs which means they have the means to think independently on the battlefield. However, they are completely devoid of emotion...mercy is for the weak.
Going up a step, we have the Castellax Battle-Automata Maniple.

These massive automata are there to provide you with even more support both at range or in close combat. They can be armed with power blades, shock chargers, bolters, flamers, bolt cannons, multi-meltas, or darklight cannons. The machine spirit is strong within these creations and they are looking impressive in plastic.
Equally impressive in plastic is the immense Thanatar-Cavas Siege-Automata. That plasma mortar is going to render defences into slag so that your troops can shamble forward and begin the slaughter.

With these miniatures now available in plastic, they are going to be snapped up by a lot of folks playing as the Adeptus Mechanicus in Warhammer 40,000 as well I would bet. There's no reason why these creations couldn't be reworked and tinkered to suit the Grimdark Future as well as The Horus Heresy.
Last but not least from the preview, we had the Triaros Armoured Conveyor.

This beast of a transport option can carry two core units around or you could instead fill it with your hulking Thallax if you prefer. It comes laden with anti-tank options and has some good defences to make sure it gets where it needs to be. I would say that this is another impressive kit that I'm sure folks will be happy to see in plastic.
A number of these miniatures will be available in the new Mechanicum Battle Group.

Get your hands on those core troops and the armoured assets to back them up. You'll then have to get yourself the Thanatar-Cavas Siege-Automata and Archmagos Prime separately and decide which side of the civil war you come down on.
Will you be scooping up these new plastic miniatures?

Combine these with victorian era British riflemen and you’ve got an almost perfect steampunk army for Mars
Quite!
Oh yeah!
Archmagos Prime looks like a descendant from Lord Buckethead.
lol Can’t unsee that now 😀
Perhaps it could be called “Lord Curtainhead”?
I like this release.
Are you chuffed with the new figures Lloyd ?
I’d happily put these with my exoisting Mechanicus forces for 40K as there isn’t a particulalry big shift in aesthetics. I particularly like the APC and would happily field a few of those if the price point isn’t ludicrous.
Ooh they’ll look fabulous on the tablet top hammering the enemies of the emperor
