Come and join us for another delve into the Forums and Projects to find the best of the best from the last week or so. We're going to be getting stuck into lots of great looking pieces this week...

...make sure to always let us know what YOU have been working on and share it across the site.

Fantasy Vikings by guillotine

We start off with a project which looks to be focusing in on what a lot of people are doing right now. guillotine has been working on this range of characters from Red Box Games and Mierce Miniatures to make himself a Fantasy Viking army worthy of Age Of Magic and Warlords Of Erehwon.

Fantasy Vikings #1 by guillotine

These larger than life characters have been painted in exceptional style by guillotine, getting that sense of them being more like the legends, myths and sagas than they may have been in history. He has been working away on all sorts of heroes, both male and female...

Fantasy Vikings #2 by guillotine

...featuring awesome basing techniques to give you an idea of the inhospitable climate that these warriors are fighting in, no doubt harassed at all times by monstrous beasts. As well as these leaders he has also been working away on a band of warriors to fight alongside them.

Fantasy Vikings #3 by guillotine

This set is from the Red Box Games collection although the fellow at the front with the red shield is actually one of the promotional miniatures from Monolith for Ragnarok. I think you'll agree that all of these models are looking utterly fantastic.

I really like the use of blue across the models to keep that cold theme running throughout the faction which is then contrasted by little spots of warmth either from their skin, hair, beards or cloaks.

Mansions Of Madness Investigators by joshtogo

Next up we're looking to some Pulp investigating in the world of Arkham with Mansions Of Madness and joshtogo. He took the time to paint up all of the Investigators from the game and we picked out a selection of them here.

Mansions Of Madness Characters #1 - joshtogo

I am a big supporter of anyone who takes the time to paint the models from their board games and I think that joshtogo has gone the extra mile here. All of the characters are looking great, very close to the character art you'll see for them in-game too. I like the high contrast and bright colours too, making them truly stand out on the tabletop.

Mansions Of Madness Characters #2 - joshtogo

Not only have the core characters been painted up but all sorts of additional explorers from the expansions too. If anyone has played any of the Arkham games then you'll see some familiar faces here, especially from Eldritch Horror and the Living Card Game.

Mansions Of Madness Characters #3 - joshtogo

As well as keeping the models looking fit for the period I really like that joshtogo took the time to change them over from their standard bases to these clear ones. It works so much better with the board game and shows off the beautiful artwork that Fantasy Flight Games stuck onto the game boards.

Master Of Possession by halfmileduck

Last but not least we're looking to the work of halfmileduck on this rather impressive Master Of Possession from Warhammer 40,000.

Master Of Possession #1 - halfmileduck

Moving the technique paint scheme to the side I think that what has been achieved here is a great step in the right direction. I think the focus towards brown and more earthy tones gives the Master Of Possession the look of an old shaman or warlock from a Fantasy setting. Considering Warhammer 40,000 is pretty much Space Fantasy it seems particularly fitting and I think it works really well here to provide you with a creepy take on this character.

Master Of Possession #2 - halfmileduck

The paint scheme as a whole is awesome and it is once again given that additional 'hit' with the addition of that flickering bright green flame which draws your eye to all of the important bits of the model. It looks particularly good on the skull icon at the top of the Master's staff.

A fantastic paint job and a worthy addition to any expanding Chaos army.
