Community Spotlight: Tiny Kings Of War, Age Of Magic & Bobby Baratheon!
March 24, 2021 by brennon
Come and join us for another delve into the Projects to find the best of the best from the last week or so. We're going to be getting stuck into lots of great looking miniature wargaming painting and hobbying this week...
...make sure to always let us know what YOU have been working on and share it across the site.
10mm Kings Of War by kojohan
The first project we're going to be looking at today comes from the exceptionally talented kojohan. They have been tinkering away on some fantastic 10mm miniatures from Forest Dragon for use in a small scale version of Kings Of War.
A couple of armies are in the works but the first of the finished armies is this fantastic one for Kingdoms Of Men. As you can see, a lot of beautiful paint work has gone into this force which features amazing characters, valiant knights, grubby peasants and more. There are even some excellent pieces of terrain too.
The warm reds and yellows for this army have worked very well indeed and I think that it is a nice unifying colour for the force as a whole. In addition to that, you've also got all manner of excellent looking armoured warriors in their shining metal armour.
This is a seriously impressive force and I love how nicely it has come together in a relatively short amount of time. Undead and Elves are also getting introduced into the mix for this 10mm Kings Of War collection and I can't wait to see how they turn out.
This is not doing anything for my willpower as I try and step away from building and painting 10mm armies. I am trying to stay away from making a Not-Warmaster army at the moment. I don't think that I will last very long considering how well these armies are turning out.
Age Of Magic Army by foehammer888
The next project we're going to be looking at goes all the way up to 28mm. Here we have the start of a new SAGA: Age Of Magic army by foehammer888 who is bringing together a range of different miniatures.
The idea behind this force is that it uses The Lords Of The Wild theme from the Age Of Magic rulebook. Instead of going with the traditional woodland theme, foehammer888 has instead decided to go under the sea and create a water-based empire. The collection mixes together miniatures from Wrath Of Kings and Age Of Sigmar so far.
The paint job is stunning, as you might imagine, and the basing work, in particular, does give you the impression of an army that has just risen from the sea and are charging up through the rocks. Even the Hadross from Wrath Of Kings have made their way into the mix with creatures like this!
There are other shots of this particular monster on the project link above but I thought this not only showed off the base detail but also the painting work on the creature's back. I have a feeling that this is going to turn into an excellent looking final army which will be perfect for SAGA: Age Of Magic and beyond.
For those who like their sharks (Warren...), there are even some Shark Warriors and big mounts coming soon to this army!
King Robert Baratheon by ogreblood
Last but not least we have a fun little conversion project from ogreblood. They have taken the Lord-Ordinator miniature from Age Of Sigmar and turned him into Robert Baratheon for A Song Of Ice & Fire!
The Age Of Sigmar models work quite nicely when scaled with some of the more impressive characters in A Song Of Ice & Fire so it felt like a good fit. In addition to that, the extra work with greenstuff here has been able to blend this Age Of Sigmar character into the more grim world of Westeros.
I think you'll agree that the paint job on this miniature is pretty awesome too. It really does look like the mighty Robert Baratheon stomping his way through a muddy field as he gets ready to slaughter some Targaryens. He even has a bloody hammer and battered armour showing that he likes getting stuck in!

well done folks, you’re all winners…except the people who didn’t get chosen as they’re not
Well done to the winners. Well deserved all round!
That 10mm KoW stuff is amazing and makes me want to dust of my Warmaster stuff!
The Age of Magic stuff is next level creativity. Lovely to look at. Miniature agnostic stuff like this why I love games like KoW and Saga AoM, it just releases creativity and takes the game into the realms of art.
