New Blood by jmsstockwell

We start off with a different type of project from jmsstockwell who decided to put together a bit of a showcase day in their local area to get people excited about the idea of Warhammer and wargaming in general.

New Blood #1 by jmsstockwell

They set up a day where they could show off wargaming in all of its glory, from the building of armies to the painting of miniatures and the terrain that you make in between. As jmsstockwell has said, they wanted to make it so that wargaming and the hobby was something that you didn't need to be ashamed of or hide from your friends. As they mentioned, statistically, there are probably a lot more wargamers out there than those who tell everyone about it.

New Blood #2 by jmsstockwell

I thought it was great that this ended up being a great showcase of the different eras of wargamer, the various miniatures that you can get your hands on and more. It seemed like the day was a success with some armed police showing up to have a look as well as others who were so eager that they might have gone away as new hobbyists.

New Blood #3 by jmsstockwell

Our hobby is such a fascinating one to be part of, from the books to the art and the miniatures and it's ace when people like jmsstockwell bite the bullet and show off why they love the hobby. It should hopefully end up getting more people intrigued by the hobby and giving it a go themselves.

Undead Army by Lily

Next up, we're having a look at the work by Lily who has been returning to their undead army for Kings Of War. Some new skeletons got painted up as well as some sneaky, stinky trolls!

Undead #1 by Lily

The painting is great and I really like that Lily not only paints up the standard skeletons but also throws some fun colourful versions out there as well, perhaps as a champion? Some excellent new miniatures for their undead army.

Undead #2 by Lily

I also really liked the work on these undead trolls As well as the archers, Lily got to play around with painting these and also working on some puddles using AK Scenic Water Gel. These fellows look grim and gruesome and perfect for the tabletop.

Undead #3 by Lily

Make sure to check back over more of Lily's painting in the project which has already earned itself a Golden Button in the past. This is so you keep on painting and getting that army built Lily so you can play some games!

Mutant Year Zero: Zone Wars by robojoel

Last but not least, we're leaving the world of Fantasy behind and delving into the world of Mutant Year Zero: Zone Wars by robojoel. They have been painting up all of the characters from this great skirmish game.

Mutant Year Zero #1 by robojoel

They had so much fun watching us playing the game that they wanted in on the action. With that in mind, robojoel has been painting up all of the characters from not just the core game but also the expansion. The work on these, using a mix of different speed paints, has turned out really well and the zenith really helps to make the details pop.

Mutant Year Zero #2 by robojoel

They have done some excellent work on these miniatures and really worked to help them match the artwork. Because there are only a handful of miniatures across the two boxed sets, you can very quickly get these miniatures done and ready for more games without any hassle.

Mutant Year Zero #3 by robojoel

You'll have some excellent-looking games on the tabletop without having to worry about painting loads of miniatures for a big army. Maybe this will inspire some of the folks who are sitting on unpainted copies of this game to give it a go themselves!
