The Silver Bayonet by scribbs

We start with some work by the fantastic hand of scribbs. scribbs has always been interested in diving into the Napoleonic period and this time around, their entry is no different. Taking inspiration from the Retreat From Moscow, this new painting project focuses in creating a series of characters for use with The Silver Bayonet.

The Silver Bayonet #1 by scribbs

So, Napoleonics PLUS the addition of some Fantastical Horror at the same time. Sounds like a good opportunity to do some Historical painting but with a tweak. I always like the work that scribbs does and I think these are great, inspired by artwork showcasing that Retreat From Moscow.

The Silver Bayonet #2 by scribbs

I also think that this more wintery setting is probably spot-on for The Silver Bayonet. I like the idea of some haunting horror stalking you through the snow, blood staining the pure white of the wintery countryside.

The Silver Bayonet #3 by scribbs

The first few miniatures from the collection are looking very cool indeed and I think this is going to turn into a fun project in the end. I am eager to see what other characters get added into the mix to perhaps bring this more in line with The Silver Bayonet itself.

Clash Of Spears by miniaturebrushwork

Next up, we're lowering the scale and venturing back to the Ancient battlefields of history. We are looking at the work by miniaturebrushwork and a Clash Of Spears collection.

Clash Of Spears #1 by miniaturebrushwork

There is a real mix of different characters in 15mm to take a peek at here already. The focus is around the Third Servile War which saw a gladiator army rising from the slave pits of the Roman Empire and seeking to get some revenge against their captors.

Clash Of Spears #2 by miniaturebrushwork

A small army is in the works at the moment with loads of neat options for two armies. As well as the Slave army which contains a band of gladiators, you're also going to see a full-on Roman force with the power of the Republic behind them!

Clash Of Spears #3 by miniaturebrushwork

I think it's neat to get a look at someone planning to play out Clash Of Spears on a smaller scale. We've seen a lot of folks approaching it in 28mm but it's cool to see someone heading down the scale in order to create an epic-looking experience on the tabletop. I am eager to see what all of these miniatures look like when they hit the tabletop.

Winter Guard by jodain

Last but not least, we're looking at some work by jodain for a Warmachine force. They are preparing for Broadside 2021 and wanted to put together a fun game between Cryx and Khador. The focus has been on the Khador for now with the Winter Guard painted up very nicely!

Winter Guard by jodain

As a Khador fan in the depths of time, I really like how these have turned out. I like the way they have come together with that slate grey working well against the red on their armoured pieces. You've then got lots of nice spots of colour here and there to make each of the soldiers stand out.

There is more in the project for you to check out and you can also take a peek at some more of their plans to revisit old miniatures too. I like it when an army gets a new lease of life!
