Marvel: Crisis Protocol by chaosgorka

We start this Community Spotlight with a look at what chaosgorka has been working on for Marvel: Crisis Protocol. Part commission and personal project, the collection of miniatures that chaosgorka has been working on look absolutely stunning.

Marvel Crisis Protocol #1 by chaosgorka

chaosgorka continues to be able to nail the comic book look of these different 40mm miniatures. There's an element to chaosgorka's style that manages to make it look like the characters have burst off the page and made their way to the tabletop. All of the blends and the highlights are also fantastic and I'd be happy to own these!

Marvel Crisis Protocol #2 by chaosgorka

chaosgorka has been working on a variety of different miniatures over the last few weeks but mostly villains that could hunt down mutants and Web-Warriors. I really appreciate the harsh highlights on the miniatures as it continues to sell that idea of the comic book come to life.

Marvel Crisis Protocol #3 by chaosgorka

chaosgorka continues to impress and if you're seeking a good guide as to how you could be painting your Marvel: Crisis Protocol miniatures, this could be a project to bookmark. As someone who recently picked up Marvel: Crisis Protocol, I have loved painting each of the miniatures as their own little project. It's always inspiring to see what others have been doing!

Ancient Greek Cyclops by horati0nosebl0wer

Moving from comic book action to Ancient Greek myth and legend, we have more miniatures getting added to horati0nosebl0wer's SAGA project where they are building a fantastic army. Most recently, they worked on this brilliant Cyclops.

Cyclops #1 by horati0nosebl0wer

3D printed, this Cyclops has a fantastic Harryhausen quality to them. I liked the addition of the sheep on the base as well which is a good call back to the Odyssey and nervously sneaking out of a cave! The paint scheme is also on point and works very well with the rest of the army with those lovely deep greens and yellows.

Cyclops #2 by horati0nosebl0wer

A brilliant way to fold a new monstrous miniature into the army whilst also linking it to the Harryhausen vibe. I particularly liked the hatch-like detail work on the leather and the clothing in general which is a great way of adding texture to flat surfaces. It also looks great from a wargamer's perspective.

Cyclops #3 by horati0nosebl0wer

You should dive into the project on the link above and check out more of what horati0nosebl0wer has been working on. There are some fantastic cavalry miniatures in the mix recently alongside loads of other monsters and heroes. A great resource for those seeking to wargame in Greek Mythology.

Moonstone by elmir

Last but not least we have some work by elmir who has stepped away from painting 10mm armies and instead has indulged in the Fantasy world of Moonstone. We couldn't kick off 2025 without a bit of Moonstone to please Gerry.

Moonstone #1 by elmir

They have been working on some of the Fairies from Moonstone and the Enclave. The miniatures painted up included Teetoe, Fraya and The Fencer and elmir has done a brilliant job on nailing the details for these 32mm miniatures.

Moonstone #2 by elmir

I was particularly taken by the gorgeous use of such bright colours on elements like the wings and the twisting vortex around Fraya. Once again, some good shading and highlighting work goes a long way to really making the details pop. It's quite key on these slightly larger miniatures.

Moonstone #3 by elmir

Look at the wings on Teetoe! They look lovely and this is a nice bit of detail work with a touch of freehanding here and there. I also like the very natural basing and the darker look to the branches that they are soaring around as it helps to frame the fairies very well.
