Empire Of The Dead by denzien

We start this week looking at some awesome Empire Of The Dead plotting and planning coming from denzien. They have recently been drawn into the game after always being on the fringes and it looks like they might be going all in if this project is anything to go by.

Empire Of The Dead #1 by denzien

Some of the most recent painting has been on getting Nemo's Crew already ready for action and some Steampunk adventures across the globe and back home in Blighty. It seems like this painting project might have been the key to unlocking more and more from denzien as I think a Nautilus might be lined up to join the collection soon enough.

Empire Of The Dead #2 by denzien

The Empire Of The Dead range is one that folks might have forgotten about and so it's really nice to see it out there in the wild in people's projects. The miniatures from West Wind are superb and full of character. denzien's painting is also spot on and I think they've done a superb job of pulling out the character and giving them that proper Pulp, Steampunk vibe. Once the basing is done, I'm sure they'll really pop.

denzien also took the opportunity to print and paint up a bunch of terrain for their Empire Of The Dead tabletops. Here you can see the fruits of that labour in some of these glorious houses.

Empire Of The Dead #3 by denzien

A dock, city streets (complete with cobbles) and more are all planned so that denzien has a variety of fun environments to play around in once they get Empire Of The Dead to the tabletop. I really liked the subtle changes in brick colour on the buildings which looked really realistic. When combined with more of the terrain that denzien has been tinkering with, you get the sense that this is going to be one hell of a fun Empire Of The Dead collection when it's all finished. More gangs, characters and terrain can be seen by heading on over to the project!

Frugal Dragon's Budget Gaming by frugalmax

Next up, we have something very special from frugalmax. I completely missed this one last week but it is a great project looking at adding to your miniatures and terrain collection whilst being on a budget. frugalmax has looked at bringing toy dragons into the world of wargaming...

Budget Wargaming #1 by Frugalmax

...and also some great terrain as well, all of it on a budget for those of us who don't have bundles of cash to spend. All of the techniques are great and the finished results speak for themselves when it comes to the dragon and the terrain.

Budget Wargaming #2 by Frugalmax

However, that's not the charm of this project. The charm comes in the TV show-style videos that frugalmax has been making as part of the Frugal Dragon Show.

The Cheap Dragon Show Episode 1: Cheap Dragons!

Seriously, give this show a watch over on YouTube. Not only is it informative and showcases the different techniques but it's also funny as well. It's a great way to present these kinds of hobby techniques and ideas in a novel way. I have now watched all three episodes available on the YouTube channel and frugalmax deserves plenty more subscribers. Get involved!

Infinity by chaosgorka

Last but not least, we're looking at the work of chaosgorka who has been doing great work on a series of Infinity Squads being donated as part of the NOVA Charitable Foundation.

Infinity #1 by chaosgorka

The painting from chaosgorka is, as always, fantastic and very clean. The miniatures look fantastic and have transferred that cartoon and anime vibe from the Infinity universe to the tabletop. I was particularly taken by the PanOceania miniatures above but I thought the O-12 were also very, very striking.

Infinity #3 by chaosgorka

That blue and yellow is brilliant. It is so intense and poppy, especially with the cyberpunk-green bases that they are mounted on. You could see these hopping off the pages of a comic book or on a Saturday Morning Cartoon. These are just some of the NOCF miniatures that chaosgorka has added as part of the charity raffle.

Infinity #2 by chaosgorka

If you want to get involved, you can head over to the page linked above and maybe get stuck in with some bids. You might also want to take a closer look at what chaosgorka has been doing as part of this project and maybe ask them about any tips and tricks they can give you when it comes to painting these in their style.
