Come and join us for another delve into the Forums and Projects to find the best of the best from the last week or so. We're going to be getting stuck into lots of great looking pieces this week...

...make sure to always let us know what YOU have been working on and share it across the site.

Warmachine Cygnar by yavasa

The first of our looks this week and the recipient of a Golden Button is yavasa who has been putting together wonderful Project which explores the Cygnar faction he has been gathering for use in Warmachine.

Warmachine Cygnar #1 by yavasa

All of the models are presented in their signature Cygnar blue and are looking fantastic, with plenty of the detail worked into the skin and the armour designs. I like the dark bronze and the dull silver/iron which works very well against the bright blue.

You can see this skill carried over into the larger Light Warjacks too although I would have liked to see some brighter blue showing across some of the raised sections here.

Last but not least we have the most recent set of models that he has been working on with his Gun Mages.

Again, the bright blue here makes them pop and then the addition of the stunning yellow works as a good accent. Whilst the painting on the models itself is around tabletop quality (which is great as it is) I think the real draw of this force is that everything is tied together so nicely.

Even the way the basing works helps to draw them together and the darker nature of it helps frame the models even more.

Malign Sorcery Spells by laughingboy

Next up, we're looking towards the work of laughingboy who created these amazing Malign Sorcery Spells during Hobby Night Live AND this last week.

Malign Sorcery Spells #1 by laughingboy

The final look of these is frankly astounding and I love that each of them has been designed with a particular theme in mind. They match very well with the school of magic that they have come from, especially when you look towards that howling fiery maw and the purple sun at the back there with its metallic glint.

There are plenty of progress pictures to check out on the Project and I'm sure that laughingboy will answer any questions you have for him.

I think one of the nicest things about this set is how the magical 'effect' has been carried over across the models. I love the little hints of highlighting, the fading between the various colours and more. They have come together wonderfully to creat some dynamic looking pieces.

Sharp Practise Prussians by civilcourage

Last but not least we're looking towards a combination of both painting and hobby as well as gaming. civilcourage has been working away on his Prussians for Sharp Practise and they have come out stunningly.

Sharp Practise Prussians #1 - civilcourage

We took a look at these models a while ago when we were doing a Hobby Hangout and I have to say the final article is wonderful to beyond. The uniforms have come out very well indeed and the extra effort put into that rich green basing has really helped with the look of the force as a whole.

Sharp Practise Prussians #2 - civilcourage

The Jaegers above are some of the best looking models. I really like that vibrant green and it works so nicely alongside the black and brown of their kit and the blue you see across the other Prussians.

One of the best things about this Project is that civilcourage has also put together a couple of battle reports as he gets his side out there on the tabletop.

Sharp Practise Prussians #3 - civilcourage

It's great to see that the game is getting played with the army he has been working on. Too often we paint forces and then never get to actually use them in games. Too Fat Lardies have done a great job with Sharp Practise though so it's great to have a smaller scale skirmish game to get involved with.

It means hobby and army building is achievable and you can also really focus in on particular elements of your troops to give them more personality.
