Come and join us for another delve into the Projects to find the best of the best from the last week or so. We'll be getting stuck into lots of great-looking miniature wargaming painting and hobbying this week...

...always let us know what YOU have been working on and share it across the site.

Crazy Horses by Hazyboy

First out of the gates this week is both an expansion to an existing army and also a full army in its own rights with a twist. Hazyboy is galloping towards the sound of the butt butt dings with a fully cavalry force for his Hundred Kingdoms Conquest army and magnificent it looks to boot!

First up are the standard Household cavalry, and what a standard they have all kitbashed and ready to ride at the head of the army bringing power to a point at pace! The first cavalry units in Hazyboy's army back in the day were done with regular acrylic paints in the patented BMB stylee, but having jumped into using speed paints since then the most recent unit was adapted to try the new scheme and they're fantastically poppy.

Even though the army is relatively small there is a ton of detail on the models and Hazyboy's painting style really makes each individual unit stand out, This coupled with the tons of deep detail highlights just how effective speedpaint and the BMB finishing step can be to get a tabletop ready force in short order.

Even though the army itself is small, currently at 1500 points, it has an amazing look. That's probably in part due to the scale of the miniatures used but beyond that you can imagine what his opponents face will look like when he sets this up on the tabletop. (sorry Dan) I have no idea how well it will play out but I can imagine a certain amount of trepidation at having so much hard hitting cavalry coming hell for leather towards you.

Our House #BestHouse by Ewokkebab

Ewokkebab continues in his efforts to create a project for every game in the world that is stuffed to the brim with amazing buildings and this one is no different. His Ankh-Morpork table build is continuing at pace and it contains some stunning buildings that the ewok factory churns out at pace.

The big house is a magnificent centrepiece for any table and is large enough that you could actually make it the whole table! Four floors and an attic space I would love to see a bespoke scenario that keeps everyone confined inside the House of Water (#besthouse) as they stalk from room to room hunting...something. All that it's waiting on now is for decoration and some furniture to fill it up.

The watchtower is such an unusual shape and silhouette it really stands out and evokes the ramshackle feel of Mr Pratchett's baffling city. You feel that it's grown over time as parts have been extended and added to it over the years. It's a perfect building for any watchman to stand out of the weather in and Ewokkebab as done a beautiful job with the paint job and weathering giving it an aged feel.

Work is obviously continuing at pace for the other streets and areas within Ankh-Morpork, and with the shades already cobbled together some more upmarket town houses are in progress. The great thing about this project is you can have terrain from a host of makers and it still works as the city grew up and swallowed individual neighbouring villages so distinctly different areas makes a lot of sense and EW is firing this stuff out faster than I can type.

Rebel Rebel by JeffersonPowers

Jeffersonpowers (no relation to Max) has been enjoying Shatterpoint and doing a magnificent job on getting a host of Rebel Scum and valiant Imperial defenders ready for the board across a range of sets.

Starting off with the man without which we would never have gotten the Baylan Skoll show Grand Admiral Thrawn, the heir to the Empire himself. I love the non-pose pose that he is in, no need to stress or be kicking off he's a cerebral man and the meticulous paint job for his uniform perfectly captures him, right down to his rank insignia! Also, I'm positive everyone loves painting white uniforms 🙂

Sabine Wren is another minor character from the Baylan Skoll Saga leaning into her vibrant graffitied armour with stunning freehand work on the various armour panels Jeffersonpowers (no relation to Max) has captured the feeling of the character and the explosion rising up from below is excellent, just the first moments of the blast kicking off and a slight darkening of the flames.. looks so good.

The Mandalorian from the Baby Yoda show is a fantastic model, the way Jeffersonpowers has highlighted the beskar armour is very striking and an excellent way to show off the high contrast bright metallic if you aren't considering making your eyeballs bleed with non-metallic metals. The hard depth of the shadows up to the bright highlights sell the Mando perfectly and baby Yoda is there wondering what he can eat.
