Aliens GF9 Board Game Miniatures by artemis5051

We start with a look at some speed painting by artemis5051. I think if I was to attempt speed painting like this I would make one hell of a hash of it. Turns out artemis5051 is a pretty dab hand with a brush and so this is how their Aliens: Another Glorious Day In The Corps miniatures turned out.

Aliens Board Game Miniatures #1 by artemis5150

These are looking simply awesome and an excellent way to show off the great sculpts by the team at Gale Force Nine. I really like how each of the characters feels like they've been given that serious dose of character and tied directly to their look from the films. Added to that, you've also got those simple but excellent looking marines and those Xenomorphs too!

Aliens Board Game Miniatures #3 by artemis5150

This is genuinely an excellent looking set of miniatures. I really like, in particular, how artemis5051 has managed to play around with the skin texture and tone of the aliens. They could very easily have just been black but there are greens and blues mixed in there too to give them the look of the film monsters.

As someone who is struggling hard not to by the game, this is making it all the more appealing. I really like the work done by Gale Force Nine on the miniatures and game and I think it could be a fun project to dive into.

There are a few more images from artemis5051 over on the profile link above which give you a more detailed look at some of the characters and terrain. As I've said already, this is a really fun little snapshot of a "complete" project. I reckon this is going to make the experience of playing the game ten times more awesome!

Sleepy Hollow by henrileite

Next, we're going back in time to explore a "Sleepy Hollow" from henrileite. They have been working on miniatures from Galloping Major and Wargames Foundry as well as a few other places to use as part of this Historical/Horror collection.

Sleepy Hollow #1 by henrileite

The idea is that these miniatures will come together to present them with a small collection of skirmish figures which can be used for Historical games and also something a little darker. Taking the theme of Sleepy Hollow is a really fascinating one and it brings to mind all manner of ghouls, spectres and as you can see above, werewolves!

As well as dramatis personae that might lead the way for scenarios, we also have some rank and file fellows too. I particularly liked this band of men, especially those with unshaven faces! It's neat seeing someone tackle that effect on a miniature.

Sleepy Hollow #2 by henrileite

It's not all miniatures either. As well as working their way through a selection of great looking miniatures they have also been painting up some terrain as well. Again, using Sleepy Hollow as an anchor point has meant we get creepy wheat fields, misty graveyards and haunted woods.

Sleepy Hollow #3 by henrileite

There are some step-by-step walkthroughs on a few of the terrain pieces and lots of detailed images for other characters too. It's a really fun project which I think would be excellent to dive into and follow along with. It is certainly getting me in the mood for something similar and maybe rewatching that film!

Gaspar Serpentium by thebucklandbrewer (DeepWars / ShadowSea Project)

Last but not least, we're looking at the work by thebucklandbrewer. This is a little addition to a previously looked at project from last year. The DeepWars and ShadowSea collection expands with one Gaspar Serpentium!

Gaspar Serpentium #1 by thebucklandbrewer

The thing that really resonated with me from this miniature is the use of colour. I love how eldritch and ethereal the character looks with that mix of blues and purples, capped off with the lines of gold. The starry and smokey cloud rising from his hand is also fantastic and adds that element of cosmic horror to the model as a whole.

The back of the miniature is also excellent looking and I love the strange tendrils and tentacles which are weaving their way around the character's body. It's neat that those few elements of the model are so highlighted and works very well alongside the glow effects too.
