It's time for that weekly dip into what you've all been working on in the Hobby & Painting Forum here on Beasts Of War. Let's see what has been inspiring you...and us! First off we have some sandal wearing warriors inspired by our Spartacus Let's Play!

Spartacus Gladiators by bensw

Board game pieces are always much better looking once you've got some paint on them and I think that bensw has done a great job on these here. They look a lot more vicious!

It's good to see that there are plenty of different colours going on here in terms of their armour to make them stand out on the sands of the arena.

The darker character here reminds me of Oenomaus from the TV series although I don't think he ever donned such heavy armour during his fights. Hopefully you're Gladiators will have plenty of luck in the arena and become favoured bensw!

Soviet Tank Riders + Tank by byakhee

Getting stuck into the realm of World War II we take a look at byakhee's Soviet Tank and Tank Riders! These are actually from the Bolt Action Boot Camp that he attended with us at Beasts of War and we think they've finally turned out awesome.

It's neat to see Soviets without the snow on them too. I know that I've said many times that I love snow bases but I think seeing the Soviets with greener bases certainly makes them feel a little less grim. Always good when you're a Soviet soldier.

Master Of Laketown by opponenttheory

opponenttheory has been working on some Middle-Earth miniatures for a while now from both Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. His latest piece is this utterly amazing looking Master of Laketown who certainly looks the part in his deep purple outfit.

The work here from opponenttheory is wonderful with plenty of attention to detail worked into the clothing, all the trinkets hanging from his outfit and his facial expression too.

The addition of the wooden plank bases also adds to the model and ties him into the Laketown theme. I hope the rest of his warband is going to follow suit.

Looking back in time a little we also have this version of Erestor he has painted up.

If you want to see some more of his work then you can check out his personal thread over in the forums HERE. Hopefully he will be sharing more of his work and delving deeper into the realm of Middle-Earth.

Once again a big thank you to our awesome community for their work which constantly inspires us to try out new techniques. If you have your own projects to share add them to the Hobby & Painting Forum and you can click here to see other work that's been awarded a Gold Badge.

What have you been working on this week?
