Celestial Painters Interview: Sergio
July 5, 2018 by dracs
Sergio Calvo breaks down the doors of the office (through Skype) to talk about his entry into the Celestial Miniatures painting contest.
Having worked on projects like Rum & Bones and A Song of Ice and Fire from CMON, Sergio chose Nuwa for his entry into the Celestial Painting contest. Taking inspiration from Nuwa being a Goddess, Sergio chose to depict a scene where she is creating life, with DNA fragments between her hands and surrounded by a wall of water which Sergio assures us was created by magic...
You can check out more of Sergio's work on his Facebook page and you can learn to paint like him on his Patreon!
How do you think the water was created?

firstly i’d like to say i absolutely adored The name of the wind. a stunning piece full of emotion that i personally thought should have placed 1st. in fact i liked it so much that ,along with atonement, it’s just about my favorite piece of any year. i love your Nuwa for all the same reasons, emotional and beautiful.
so if i sign up to patreon i can be taught to paint by the gentlemen who painted The name of the wind? sold, sold and thrice sold.
wow brilliant work.
