Sam catches up with award-winning painter Fabrizio Russo to talk about his entry into the Celestial Miniatures painting contest.
Using the Queen of the Void as the focal point of the piece, Fabrizio also uses Zhurong as a conquered victim of the (yaaassss) Queen. The vibrant colours of the arcs on the diorama frame the blues and purples of the Queen superbly. And surprisingly this piece involved the use of a hammer...

Fabrizio is an real gentlemen and very humble. the way you carry yourself given your obvious talent is a credit to you sir. The piece itself is phenomenal. Fabrizio came strong from the onset with his incredible cracked skin effect and then proceeded to out do himself with the spray of bubbling energy that frames her. your use of foil reminds me of the old citadel great spined dragon where you had to make the wings from paper and then spay them several times to get the rigidity. it has been a real pleasure to see this imaginative interpretation of… Read more »
