January 26, 2017 by dignity
In this episode, Phil from Battlefront is fending off my forces with his West Germans, defending their rights to the ultimate taste in fast food, the burger house. See how this assault plays out for Team Yankee.

Not 100% sure on this, but I don’t know if Milans can fire from inside most most buildings “in real life.” This is part of the reason some armies are considering “soft launch” variants of systems like the Javelin, which have the specific selling point of you CAN fire them from inside buildings (without the backblast roasting your team, I mean). Of course I don’t know about the rules for Milans (or other ATGWs) in the game. Does the game have any rules prohibiting older ATGWs like Dragons or AT-5s from firing inside buildings? Because I don’t think troops can… Read more »
@oriskany, You are correct that systems like the Milan shouldn’t be fired from an enclosed space due to back blast constraints (the over pressure not being healthy for the crew and anyone stood behind them), especially systems that were knocking around in 1985. That being said, there was provision for setting up fire positions from buildings but it meant doing things like smashing windows or blowing holes in walls to allow the over pressure from firing to escape. If you’re setting up a platoon position during a conventional war in Europe I doubt your overly concerned with the state of… Read more »
Yeah, though so. There ARE some newer systems that came out in the mid-late 80s, 90s, and 2000s that are supposed to be safer (I thing German “Ambrust” was the first) to fire from indoors. But they always told us, even with the AT-4s we were training with (much smaller than these) not to fire them from indoors. Then again, when you’re getting charged by a platoon of Soviets, with APCs coming in and two tanks in support, “safety guidelines” kind of go out the window. I’ve just heard it was lethal in some cases. 😀
Wasnt the Milan at this time wireguided?
Pretty sure “everything” was wire-guided at this stage, and I mean really wire-guided (full spool of FO wire all the way back to the launcher system as opposed to later systems that trailed a length of transmitting FO wire that only had to trail maybe 50-100 feet or so – e.g., the later TOWs).
I just mention it as although I’m n expert I would imagine firing ATGM’s in BUA’s would lead to all sorts of difficulties
