Anvil Industry are back on Kickstarter with a campaign looking to update and revamp one of their oldest and most popular miniature ranges. The British Space Force are back at it with a host of pre-supported STL Files available for you to download and print off at home.

This revamp of the British Space Force takes inspiration from the pith helmets and dress uniforms of the Victorian-era British at the turn of the 20th Century. They have then been given a Sci-Fi twist so they could be used to represent the Praetorian Guard in games of Warhammer 40,000 or armies in Grimdark Future, Xenos Rampant and beyond.

This range of miniatures will be available in STL File format only as part of this campaign but the idea is that they will be made available as physical miniatures in the future. As it stands though, the range features an awesome set of modular, pre-supported components which have been tailor-made so that each piece can be kitbashed to give you as many options as possible.

The miniature design is similar to classic plastic kits that a lot of people will be familiar with so you can switch out arms, heads, legs and bodies to make some unique soldiers for your skirmish games or large-scale wargames. I think you could have a lot of fun just assembling this army, playing around with the different pieces in various piles and kitbashing and customising to your heart's content.

This range from Anvil also features the "multi-shell system" which means that if you like tinkering with digital files, you've got options to remove and tweak elements of the STL Files so you've got more ways to make your force unique.

This range is also therefore compatible with the larger Anvil Industry Regiments collection so you could bring in bits from other ranges if you really wanted. If you like the sound of the campaign but want to try before you buy, you can get some Free Sample Miniatures from Anvil Industry.

The examples shown here give you a hint as to how these miniatures could be built but you can take them in lots of different directions in order to make a unique British Space Force intent on campaigning across the galaxy, from Mars to the fringes of known space!

Miniature Packs

The campaign breaks down into a series of different packs which can be picked up as part of bundles. We start with the Character Pack which will give you a good starting point.

This set comes with miniatures representing General Lady Britannia on the back of her steed alongside a Commissar who can also be mounted. There is another option for a Commissar on foot if you'd prefer to stick him with the foot-slogging infantry to keep them in check.

The set is finished off by a Combat Engineer who will keep your vehicles running and a Psychic who can draw on the power of the beyond to enhance your troops or cause havoc amongst the enemy. Just be careful they don't get lured by dark forces!

Stepping down a rank, we also have the Command Pack.

This set comes with a collection of Senior Officers, Spotters, Radio Operators, Battlefield Medics, Standard Bearers and Musicians. Use these to supplement your squads or as part of the higher-up staff, keeping an eye on proceedings from afar.

The general Infantry are also catered for with a big bundle of bits for you to tinker with.

You'll note that the Infantry comes in two different styles when it comes to their components. You can either go with the pith helmets and cross belts or the parade uniforms and caps. A solid way for you to cater to your Praetorians and the Mordians at the same time.

There is also an awesome Heavy Weapon Pack which takes the form of a Maxim Machine Gun. It even comes mounted on a neat old-fashioned carriage.

If all of these packs have caught your attention, you can take a peek at some of the example configurations for builds over on the Kickstarter and also some painted examples!

Stretch Goals

Last but not least, we also have Stretch Goals which have been hit by backers already!

Gasmasks have already been unlocked plus plenty of special weapons. It would be great to get the bonus heads included as part of the project as well so you could make mixed regiments of troops from the different corners of the British Space Empire.
