Warren will be happy.. more than a third of Koreans are buddist.
And they do have massive buddhas 🙂 for example Sinheungsa temple has Tongil Daebul a massive bronze buddha.. or Gakwonsa Temple which has a 15 meter high bronze buddha.. and there are plenty of them all over, even in the most conflicted regions of the South..
Yeah BABY!!!!!!! This makes me sooooo happy, that piece of terrain has followed us around for nearly a decade lol
I can’t believe we will finally get to use it lol!!
Thanks @gillandriel you are a star!

You are welcome..
Too bad it is only a one day tournament, or I would have seriously considered flying over from DK to participate.
there are two danes doing exactly that, they’re coming friday and leaving on Sunday, like a more gaming and drinking weekend. You should come over and crash in their room 🙂
(I’m on of the Danes) Well…. ? We do land on the Wednesday, have to prepare “the thing” we talked about @avernos ?.the table looks nice, I love the beach with the train. I’m building some 4groubd trains for my Africa table, so I’m in train mode allready. @gillandriel it’s allways fun hanging out with the crew, and buy to much plastic and metal in the mean time, and maybe help out ? where are you playing in the dk?
If I’d known you were going I might have considered it, Trouble is would John let me take my Centurions home?
Thats its two Centurions, what do you mean I’ll need something else….
3 Centurions!
How about the top of a valley for your overspill table, horse shoe plateau with a defile starting down the centre a Bailey bridge under construction crossing the gap?
You could do a trench system on a hill and call it Pork Chop!
I want to call the whole weekend Heartbreak Ridge
Quick assault the infantry with tanks!!!
Needs more M*A*S*H tents!
for a proper M*A*S*H-up all we need to do is figure out which beasty/OTT/CoG is Hot lips, Klinger, Radar and Hawkeye … 😉
Well Sam is obviously Radar…. I’ll take the Klinger part. I loved that looney and his determination
Looks really cool guys. Korea was basically the same as Japan when it comes to religion. Buddhist with some local sects and a splattering of different Asian religions. When Catholicism came in the late 18th Century it actually came from the Chinese trading Western books with them and it would be almost 50 years before an actual missionary or priest would come to Korea then the Koreans did what the Japanese did and executed a good chunk of the converts. Today Christianity is actually the majority religion although not by much. Good timing to be talking about Korean religion on… Read more »
the tables look great an I though Lloyd was giving them ice cream to start with which was the carts.
I just wish someone would look at me the way @Johnlyons looked as he said the name… Centurions
Disguise you as a Centurion and he might!
Chosen would make for a good table. A three way battle, commies v the un v the cold.
Remember UN forces early in the war came over from their postings as occupational forces. They got thrown in to stem the tide until organized.
Inchon was of course the great amphibious landing of the war. In military terms it was a swift victory that lead to the cutting of supply lines.
Yeah there are some great battles but since it’s a tournament we need to balance game play. On Sunday though there may be some weirder games once people know who has won
☺
The Valley and Field boards look spot on, if you have any rivers ,put a wrecked bridge on it, as most of bridges were pulverised by USAF and USN in attempts to stop the build up round Pusan. @avernos you should be able to do a different type of game for Beach landing, the Marines were pretty much landing unopposed at Inchon(as far as I can remember as the Koreans were taken completely by surprise, so it would be more local forces trying to respond to the landings , possibly limited counter attacks rather than fixed defences. The City map, know… Read more »
It’s a tournament so I can’t change up tables maybe if it was a bootcamp or a campaign weekend but they are very different beasts
@avernos fair enough…..probably severely limits what you can do, plus you need simpler terrain, so thumbs up for nice tables, much better than the unpainted stepped hills etc on a plain desk you used to see at most tournaments.
keep the Bhuda, its a nice piece of terrain, hope it goes well i lookforward to seeing some live blogs and vlogs on the day
Looking GREAT Lads, and I am so looking forward to flying over an joining in!
Looking good Gerry & John, your all doing excellent, how about a MASH camp with tents a medical truck and maybe a ragged hastly constructed helipad?
And keep the statue it will be sad if removed again 😉
There would have still been hand carts, bikes, rickshaws and animal pulled carts in Korea, as most people were still too poor to own cars.
