Blacklist Games Bring Heroes & Monsters To Kickstarter In Fantasy Series 1
April 14, 2020 by brennon
Blacklist Games is on Kickstarter right now with their Fantasy Series 1 campaign. This new collection of plastic miniatures has been designed for dungeon delvers, adventurers, heroes, villains and dungeon masters who are looking to populate their tabletops!

The range will feature a collection of preassembled and high-detailed plastic miniatures which could be used for miniatures games, board games and of course roleplaying games. They are looking to cover a lot of the bases when it comes to Fantasy adventure and bring you heroes and monsters which every gamer needs in their collection.
Valiant Heroes
All of the miniatures are available in 28mm scale which makes them good to line-up alongside existing ranges. But, that's enough talk! It's now time to check out the range and explore some Heroes first off I reckon!
Elf Paladin
Elf Monk
Dwarf Druid
Gnome Rogue
Halfling Bard
As you can see from above, the collection caters towards the little and the large in Fantasy! This is just a snippet of what is coming as part of the Fantasy Series 1 package as by the end of it you'll have at least the core 70 miniatures that they're offering as part of the campaign.
Monstrous Minions
We'll talk more details in a moment because they've also got loads of ace looking monsters for you to encounter as part of this boxed set.
Skeleton
Orc
Goblin
Gnoll
Troglodyte
The 70 miniatures in this collection come as part of a $65 basic pledge. That gets you the aforementioned miniatures, all of the unlocked stretch goals and then finally a massive Kickstarter Exclusive Dragon which takes pride of place as part of the campaign. Check him out!
There is a lot more for you to check out as part of this campaign and I can't wait to see what they have coming up next.
Pledges & Extra Options
As well as this little peek at some of the individual models we also have a rundown of the exact contents of the big set as well as some additional options for those who back.
As you can see, there is quite a bit that you can get your hands on as part of this set. I like that you get multiple options for the standard minions and such meaning that you should have a nice selection which works for encounters in-game. One of my favourites from the set in terms of heroes has to be the very cool looking Half-Orc Ranger. Remember to keep an eye out for stretch goals too as that set teases what looks like more bearded folk and were-creatures!
As well as the miniatures for both heroes and villains, they have also been working on some scenery elements as well.
Doors are always handy as they can suddenly turn a boring looking dungeon into something exciting and filled with mystery. The additional terrain accessories here should be nice as storytelling elements and a way to guide the players into taking a closer look at what you've dropped into the environment. I wonder what you'll see when you peek into that mirror?
We should hopefully be talking with the folks at Blacklist Miniatures in more detail about their collection soon as well, a peek behind the curtain at their designs and methodology.

I like some of the minis and I’m not too keen on others in this set although Blacklist games have included a nice initial range with the Kickstarter including the Oozes mini which is a bit different. Will be look forward to Blacklist games chat with OTT and who knows it might win me over.
Really like the skeleton and the orc.
Yeah I think they’ve done some good work with those regular creatures you’ll run into a lot.
There are some lovely sculpts (that skellie for a start!) but I’m a little put off by the lack of variety in the creatures. As a hobbyist first and gamer second I’d like some more poses. It’s also possible this isn’t exactly aimed at me. Lovely sculpts though, seriously.
I’ve found that a lot of D&D players don’t mind too much about them being single pose. I’d reckon that’s why they took that approach. Makes it easier to paint when they’re all the same too – just copy and paste!
fabulous looking figures an scenery.
Just backed it!
There’s some nice stuff in there like the gnolls (i was looking to uptdate those in my collection because i don’t like them: too big!), the kobolds and most of the character (the only one i don’t like is the female barbarian…).
They just updated the KS page with a few stretchgoals…
This looks like a great set for anyone wanting to start a D&D collection.
But I’m wondering about the timing of any Kickstarter happening during this time of uncertainty. I wish them all the best but I’ll be holding on to my money a little tighter during this time.
You can also pick up their Altar Quest KS stuff here. They’ve also added Altar Quest content, such as the Lurkers, that wasn’t available in their previous campaign.
Prospective backers should be aware of Blacklist’s current ongoing failure to successfully fulfill their last big KS. Read the updates for Street Masters: Aftershock since October to temper your expectations.
