As a public service …..
It would be very nice if you would, with Wayland provide a guild to this Brexet fiasco. This could be a help to other suppliers. Euros are burning in pockets. Please, please, please.
The importance and necessity of Brexit is now self evident, if for some bizarre reason there was any doubt before.
As for trade – I doubt anyone has noticed any changes. I’ve bought from all sorts of countries since we rightly voted to leave. In fact, the only problem I’ve had has been getting a car part, but as it had to be machined (it’s an old car) I’m not surprised.
Disappointed. the true alien was ALIEN, created in 1979 by HR Giger, let’s face it, it is the stuff of nightmares. Space 1999 Dragon’s Domain was terrifying as a youngster but Alien just proves what Newt says….monsters are real.
A xenomorph is cool – but those aliens from Icarus are da’ bomb as the kids say
Affleck was da bomb in Phantoms
I still maintain that the original Alien film is the best of that series and genre – mainly because for most of the film you don’t get to see the monster – it’s left to your mind’s eye to imagine what the cat saw!
It bugs me a bit (no pun intended) that a line from the sequel that was meant to lampoon military jargon “…a xenomorph might be involved…” introduced the quasi-official name for the creatures. They’ll always be ALIENs to me!
remember that the crew of the Nostromo had no clue of what it was, it was not a XENOMORPH, OVOMORPH, etc, it was an Alien that was killing the crew. Company later gave info to the marines on what was going on on LV 426.
I have some dinosaurs from Khurasan for … reasons. They’re v nice, well worth the time to ship from the US.
Gotta love some excellent looking dinosaurs!
That project is another candidate for a Spring Clean. There are so many!
I found two Inq Spak Mureens
Two? Even by the kg that would add up!
one I had started converting into a space wolf, the other was untouched, clearly I had plans back in the day… damned if I can remember what they were mind you
“Why do I own this?” – perennial cry of the wargame junky
I used to work in publishing so I know how it works… someone buys a big chunk of advertising, so you have to plug their products. It reminds me a bit of White Dwarf… before that became a brochure to display miniatures it used to be an impartial review magazine of all gaming products.
3d Printing doesn’t interest me and often the indy of the week is no interest either.
Because of the above I end up skimming the weekender most weeks.
Thankfully that’s why we’ve broken down the YT timeline so you can watch whatever you like and skip things you don;t.
So how does SPQR 2.0 compare to the original? Has it fixed the game?
Certainly something we’ll take a look at in the future I reckon
Khurasan Miniatures have always been great and have wanted to buy some but never ordered from due to postage costs and possible customs fees
I have often look on from afar – especially with some of their cool Ancient stuff
Had good service from him a couple of years ago (despite some site comments) but you do need to arrange insurance separately as there is a basic post service only.
The Brothers J have left the building? oO
Holiday and the death of the internet
Oh I forgot about Warrens excavator accident… (Don’t know if that happened but I like the idea of him having cut all cords while playing with the digger *g*)
Haha, I assumed Lloyd was roped in to some 1:1 scale terrain building in Warren’s back garden
For many people the Weekend started 24 hours early…
I suspect many barely noticed the difference!
One I’ve had my first cataract sorted by this time next week I can start to consider doing hobby again… helps if you can see what you’re doing!
Holy cow. Quick and full recovery please, CJ
The Khurasan dragon is just awesome looking.
Very much is – eager to see more people painting it up.
ITsssss the weekender time
Love the new Fire Forge dwarfs. They look very cool.
Very tempting. But do I really need another army to paint?
The eternal question of all hobbyists.
To which the eternal answer is ‘yes’.
Do fish swim?
Even if they never get painted you know the need is there…
in the immortal words of the Great Petey Wheatstraw, “Happy Easter Muthafucka”
awwww hell naaaah
the goldylocks hunters
Thanks for the show. Keeping my SPQR fingers crossed. Looking forward to tomorrow’s backstage.
Those Khurasan ships are lovely…
Ooh that neconish terrain look fabulous looking.
a fab comical show guys.
I’m salivating for the impending release of Cursed City however my wallet probably isn’t! I really enjoyed the show again and the Indie of the Week remains one of my favourite elements, although ‘Justin’s got wood’ certainly deserves a series, as does a potential weekly board game/RPG segment from ‘Free’ – don’t know where OTT found her, but Free you are definitely a breath of fresh air and your massive smile and infectious laugh is a real tonic during these dark pandemic times. I do hope you are not ousted from the screen when the J Bros return… ?
Been loving the content here and on YouTube!! I’m hoping to win one of the prizes some day ?
Cheers guys ❤️
It’s the Weekender! ?? Welcome back @avernos – is SPQR 2.0 influenced by Clash of Spears, parallel to, or something completely different? @dignity focus lad! Drifting off during the filming, or reminiscing of past shows filmed in the now abandoned studio? ? @free I noticed the Caesar comic printed and on your wall behind you! Well done. Once your in the comic you are now officially OTT. (I print those out too and post them up when they really get my funny bone) @brennon I think you forgot this episode to mention Borrows and Badgers! Jerry got in SAGA so… Read more »
I’ve not seen how they amended the rules for the revised ed, but while they are roughly the same size forces on the table, CLASH has a better system in my opinion.
SPQR is probably an easier buy in for new players to historics, especially coming from a GW background. It’s buckets of dice for the win
Cthulhu Fluxx… good times were had by all the cultists. Drinking Fluxx…. good times were had by the people not playing and laughing at the drunkards falling over themselves and forced to continue imbibing when they screwed up and failed to follow the rules.
What is Justin talking about limited print files? There might be an agreement to not print more than so many objects but there is no way to embed a time period in current files.
Some games use DRM so maybe there is something similar for files. But, as you say – I don’t see a way of stopping people printing whatever you like.
You would have to drive this across every printer maker down through the slicer and then through g-code (or equiv) level to the printer firmware just like DVDs did – oh wait that key is not legal to publish but is out there.
Companies would do better to licence and audit printer factories to produce older / limited range figures rather than invest in the hardware.
Problem is trust – something normally lacking in business.
Loving the new W’adrhŭn minis…they would make great oversized bosses in so many situations
I have the outrider scout printing..now.. I own the actual model of the gunslinger from back when it came out.
Have to say Free, again WELCOME!!!
Some lovely smaller scale minis by Khurasan, I don’t own anything in smaller scale.
Could probably do a better job as you don’t need as much detail!
I really enjoyed painting 6mm so I’m hoping the same will be true at 15mm haha
