VLOG: 3D Printing Raging Heroes’ Yakazar, Sharkman Champion | Heroes Infinite
July 11, 2022 by johnlyons
John dives into a fun "how to print" VLOG to show off how to bring the excellent 32mm miniatures from Raging Heroes' Heroes Infinite program to life! This month, we're taking sharkmen and pirates!

The Heroes Infinite line-up for June focuses on Pirates: Curse Of The Dead Sea! John really liked the miniature for Yakazar, Sharkman Champion (who doesn't love a were-shark?) and so shows off the stages that go into printing him. We'll be showing off how easy it can be to get really great miniatures from your 3D Printer with a few easy-to-follow steps!
What do you think of the results?

Thanks John, very useful.
Jyll Kiel Finn … lol
Keel Fin … as in that thing at the bottom of the ship/boat that keeps the thing from tipping over.
Also : keel hauling … where they would drag an unfortunate sould under the ship (with zero chance of survival so effectively a death sentence)
Sharkman FTW 😀
@johnlyons couldn’t you just leave the resin in the vat for the next print, or do you need to filter it out everytime?
With the opaque resin, I always clean the tank out after each print. Just on the offchance of a few grains or a fragment of cured resin present in the fluid. When I used transparent resin, I examine the tank, drag a scraper LIGHTLY over the fep, feeling for bumps or anything stuck on it, and if it feels smooth, I would just re-level the bed and go again. But best practice is to clean it out.
Thanks @johnlyons
Will you go through the process of cleaning the vat out in another video?
I’m really liking these videos of you printing miniatures, I really want to get my own 3d printer and print some out to paint.
Yeah I can expand more on the prep, cleaning and so on, for sure!
I have a very smooth edge plastic scraper so I always slowly drag it along the bottom of the vat and if nothing interferes with the motion I leave the resin in the vat. Ofc, if there are obvious print errors on the printed models (parts missing etc.) I always drain the vat and clean it.
a great looking figure so was that a part of the shark or part of the scaffolding? John.
PS have you used the scaffolding to add to terrain pieces.
It was part of a chain the model had on. But it really didn’t make much of a difference once I had it cleaned and primed.
Also yes. I save the scaffolding, and cure it in the UV box to save for future use. Maybe basing material and terrain as you say 🙂
Great work John It’s going to look fantastic painted up.
Love the models. Still printing the Paladins Knights of the Eternal Light…
