Community Spotlight: Eco Pods, Air Raids, Royal Guards & The Start Of A Forest
September 2, 2016 by lancorz
This week at Beasts of War, we've been scowering the forums and picking out some of what we think, are the best of what's been created from you. The Hobby & Painting forum has been overflowing with Scatter Terrain but that hasn't stopped you from painting and scupting some amazing miniatures to show off also.
Let's dive in!
Eco Kuripods by Seldon9
These pods from Antenocities Workshop made great scatter terrain, but we love the effect that the spray paint has created on these.
There's even time being taken to spray the shine from the torches on the front of the pods.
This has been an amazing piece and we can't wait to see them being used on the tabletop also.
Kromlech Plane by Happyhowler
Next up we have a dedicated community member who's been posting for a long time, the work displayed here is great as always.
The rust effect on the plane really makes it stand out and give the viewer a denotation of a once great fighter plane, after a few dings still hasn't reached retirement yet.
The cheeky smile on the Ork also shouts "Hurr, hurr! Da ‘umies below are gonna go boom!" You've definitely earned your beer with this one!
Star Wars Royal Guards by Agis
Next up, Agis has been posting for a while now with some great Star Wars figures during his games, these Royal guards are no exception.
We hope to see more Star Wars figures in the future too!
Start of a Forest by Soapdodger
Lastly, it's been astounding to see that the Scatter Terrain topics have been inspiring others to create their own terrain, including the beginning of a forest.
The trees were created using florist wire and it looks fantastic so far.
It's almost a shame that this tree was painted in the next post, it resembles a beautiful cherry blossom and as it stands now, could really fit well with some Asian landscapes. Is that a hint? Perhaps 😉
Congratulations to everyone who won this week and a massive cheer to everyone who's been posting and creating their own topics. Don't forget to post your own work in progress and finished pieces up on the Hobby & Painting Forum, we encourage everyone to get involved and show off what you've been creating too!
What have you been creating this week?
