In our final Faction Guide for Wild West Exodus 2nd Edition Week, we're trading scientific discoveries about The Enlightened in this steampunk skirmish game from Warcradle Studios.
Justin is joined by Chris and Stu from Warcradle as they discuss the backstory and gameplay style of this morally questionable faction, as well as introducing us to a few of the Bosses, Faces and Hands that will be at your disposal.

Haha, they’ve done it again! I’m not a huge fan of the Enlightened, but I’m starting to like them thanks to this faction guide.
Interesting but ‘undead’ factions are rarely my thing.
Rather cool but defo think the Lawmen or Warrior Nation are for me.
Saying that, a few of these could well be picked up for painting purposes!

This seems like a faction for those that just love to convert things. They could be a lot of fun.

Slightly disturbing faction that reminds me of Warmachine’s Cryx… a mixture of dangerous women, undead and living constructs. In my top three factions of this game.

These guys look cool! I was leaning towards Lawmen, but might have to reconsider.
I call very evil geniuses. Twirling moustaches in the name of science is just a cover up.
And I think Karpathian really needs to watch Full Metal Alchemist to see where his ambitions will lead him.

Yet more cool fluff and the artwork is just superb 😀 . The Enlightened are the faction that i am ( currently ) at a loss as to know where to start in collecting a posse. Maybe with Carpathian himself ? Or maybe with the ” Bride of Frankenstein ” ? ( Apologies chaps, i’ve forgotten her name ).

Damn I wanted to hate the Enlightened I really did. I am a simple soul and enjoy having the cathartic release of absolutely detesting one faction, but I can’t . I am actually considering adding this faction some time in the future now ….. bugger ……. I may have to resort to hating either the Hex or the Order……bloody extra dimensional weirdos.
If possible Justin could we get the lads over when they do the two new factions next year (The Crown and The Celestials) … I have really enjoyed these factions chats it has been a great week cheers … (now if only my starter set would arrive so I could start painting …)

And we’ve found that rare faction that doesn’t thrill me. The Enlightened just aren’t what I want to play, but that’s alright because between the Warrior Nation, the Order, Willa Shaw’s Jet Bikes, the Wayward Eight and all the other goodness I’ve got plenty to keep me entertained. 🙂

I like the fact they removed the Confederacy as a faction but kept the characters. Again, liking the concept art and can’t wait to see the models.
Yay, the faction that got me into the game. Already got Countess Byron and a few abominations. Really fun to play.
Thank you but no thank you. They are almoust as evil as Hex or more. Not my faction but still interesting. WWX have a really rich world. Thats why i love the game so much.

The depth of the world is making me want to jump into the game. Loving the faction fluff.
It seems that every faction are more shades of grey than black or white
Always been a fan of weird, wild science so I think this may be the faction for me.

Another nice faction, but i`m all in for the “Warrior Nation”. Mother nature has a plan, and i`m gonna help her to see it through.
What a cool faction, I hope these minis make to my game store. I’d love to buy them and introduce a friend to the game.
The more I learn about the various factions the more I like this world. The fact that each force seems highly configurable is a nice draw too.
Some of the coolest characters are in this faction.
I had this weird idea to use models from this game for a post apoc warband that was from a reenactment park. Would love to give the actual game a try at some point.

Interesting that the Confederacy is broken up but still kind of around fluff wise makes me curious what the Crown fluff is. Fluff for this game sounds very thought out which is always good

Seems to be a pretty popular faction. Not my first choice but has some figures that I really like.
These guys seem really cool. I like the “steam punk” technology they bring to the table. Could be another faction for me to play.

Not 100% sold on the constructs being alive, as that impacts how to paint them. It is certainly more horrific though.
I am confused by the trend to make the factions more good/positive in 2nd edition. I’ve always liked bad dudes fighting worse dudes.
