Warcraft’s Orgrim Looks AMAZING For Film Debut Next Year
May 18, 2015 by brennon
Wired got an exclusive look at the amazing work that Industrial Light & Magic have done to bring the Orc Hero Orgrim to life from Warcraft. See what he looks like as he's considered the most life like looking Orc seen on screen...
The work they've done is insane and if this is what the film is going to look like on a grand scale then we're in for something really, really special. Orgrim is portrayed by Robert Kazinsky from Pacific Rim to name one of his projects. They've used the new technology available to map his expressions and such into this representation above.
Let's just hope the acting holds up and maybe we'll even see a trailer soon since we're getting a first look at the character.
What do you think?

Dont like the warcraft universe much but hopefully they can make something cool with a movie … A starcraft flick wouldnt be unwelcome either 🙂
Very much agree. I’ve played far too much WoW over the years, not to mention all the thousands upon thousands of hours of Starcraft, Warcraft I-III, Diablo I-III, etc. etc. I’ve certainly given Blizz my fair share of cash and time. Yet, somehow I’ve never really been that impressed with their pretty hollow universe(s). Honestly I guess I just conform and go along with my geek friends on the games … having something to do and talk about with friends is better than not eh? Most game companies, most comics, most fantasy and a good portion of sci-fi … is… Read more »
Agree .. my fav blizzard games are Diablo 1 and Starcraft .. the original hero story of diablo would have made a nice fantasy/horror movie if done right.
I love woorld but the way you pay monthly for game no thank you – witcher 3 is on my way!
It’s good to see a fellow Witcher fan. Have fun tomorrow.
Looks interesting, will probably have a look even tough I ditched the game at the turn of the year – lets hope its story is better than the in game
should be interesting, considering the original warcraft was meant to be a licensed Warhammer game, but near the end of development GW pulled the plug, so blizzard went ‘effit lets release it anyway’
I still want Warcraft 4
3 was so good, just want my RTS back
Pretty much every Blizzard fan has been asking for Warcraft 4 for the last ten odd years. Maybe after Legacy of the Void gets released we will see some movement.
That is a hugely technically impressive rendition of an Orc. The visuals look set to be great, now we just have to see if the plot, characterisation and acting can match up to it.
great looking Ork.
Great to see this project coming together and really looking forward to watching this at the cinema.
World of Warcraft kinda ruined Warcraft for me, so not overly excited about it from that standpoint.
What I am excited for is it’s director, Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code). Can’t wait to see how he’s made his mark on such a big budget piece. That said, want to see more sci-fi from him (Starcraft, though unlikely, would be a good fit for him).
Duncan Jones is the son of David Bowie so if he’s anything like his son the visuals will be very creative!
sorry, I meant dad…
I can’t say no to a hairy-chested barbarian hero…
I’m good with any orc that isn’t a cartoon orc. This is definitely closer to my vision of what an orc should look like.
