Get A Sneaky Look At Painted Banner Saga: Warband Miniatures
August 4, 2016 by brennon
Megacon Games will be bringing Banner Saga: Warbands to Gen Con this year and it seems like the folks at Stoic Studio couldn't help but show off some painted versions of the miniatures that will be coming to the tabletop soon...
Here you can see one of the human models on the left, a Dredge in the middle and then the giant Varl on the right. They look amazing and just like their digital counterparts. If you're interested in the game it shouldn't be long until you can get your hands on it.
The game will feature mechanics similar to the game where you will travel around their mythical Viking world, trying to keep your group alive whilst battling the Dredge in tactical combat within a small arena.
You can also watch an unboxing of the game on the video above which shows off some more of the models for this game.
Hopefully we'll get to give this a go soon!

Looking good, too bad their Mercs ended up on the opposite side of the spectrum..
No miniatures in the retail version just cardboard counters…whose crap idea was that? I do not recall the figs being KS only. I can’t believe this tbh.
The figs are not kickstarter only and they will be available, you will just need to buy them in addition to the board game.
The kickstarter went well, but not as well as they had hoped I guess, and by making the default game with cardboard tokens only, I think they hope to appeal to a wider group of board gamers who will care more for playing the game than for the miniatures.
On the plus side, for anyone that perhaps doesn’t care much about the game, but would like the miniatures, that is now a possibility.
Those minis look like great frostgravers tbh, good thing they will be available separately. Not sure id buy a boardgame like this with just cut outs though ..
I’m a mini man myself and would pass on the game if it has no minis.
