Hero Forge 2022: Custom Familiars, Community Library & More!
January 7, 2022 by fcostin
Hero Forge has been a game-changer for a lot of us, with the ability to create our own bespoke miniatures and either get them sent out as a physical model or an STL file for us to print at home.
Now that 2022 is in full swing (regardless that I will be writing 2021 on everything for another few months by habit), Hero Forge has announced their plans for the rest of the year, adding new customisation to characters, familiars and clothing along with a new community library to scope for inspiration.
Coming In 2022 Preview // Hero Forge®
Where do we begin! There is no need for static and boring poses for your models, as Hero Forge has developed once more into the new year. Have you got a buddy you are inseparable from within your RPG campaign? A partner by your side to aid in every decision? Players can now add pairs of miniatures to their designs.
Custom Familiars // Hero Forge 2022
Along with the addition of duos, players can also customise their familiars and add decals to clothing! Meaning your familiar can be built how your imagination sees it along with added detail to your character. Gerry can now create some scheming bespoke squirrels to his mini. Although "Gerry through the ages" exists on many a platform already!
Face Customizer // Hero Forge 2022
Face customisation has become more creative, allowing players to form intricate detail in their characterisation. Want the half-orc to shine through in your miniature? Want your miniature to look just like you? By tweaking sizes of important facial features, the customisation had widened even further! With the option to chase the shape and size of important features along with the added snarl or smile - you are less likely to find another mini of similarity.
Community Library // Hero Forge
Which takes me to the Community Library. Home to all miniatures that have been crafted by the creative geniuses building on Hero Forge, a place to search for inspiration from the community in their creation. Players can add lore and detail for them to be explored and displayed in the community.
Along with the addition of the above, there are also new Pro features such as kitbashing opportunities with both decals and poses.
It is wonderful to see the world of Hero Forge grow and evolve over time. Soon, I will be heading back into Hero Forge to customise my Druid for bigger space buns, and an upgrade to my raven familiar's personality!
What would you like to see more of from Hero Forge?

Gerry already has a character with two squirrels on his base from Hero Forge 😉
