Napoleonica: Steel And Magic Coming Soon From Signum Games!
October 23, 2023 by brennon
Signum Games are going to be coming to Kickstarter in the near future with a blend of Napoleonic warfare and Fantasy elements. Napoleonica: Steel And Magic will feature classic 28mm armies of the Napoleonic era that you know but with a bit of a Fantasy twist, all played out on a hex battle map!
Napoleonica: Steel And Magic // Signum Games
Napoleonica will be playable in a couple of different modes. You'll be able to dive in and play a two-player duel or perhaps get stuck into a four-player clash. You can play the likes of the Grand Battle where you armies and duke it out or you can play in Company mode where two players work through through several scenarios where you play cooperatively to repel your deadly foes.
As mentioned above, battles play out on a hex map and your armies will be made up of your regular soldiers but also mighty monsters and famous heroes with a bit of a twist. You'll find yourself melding together the Scottish Grey Dragoons and the Imperial Guard with faeries, centaurs, beastmen and elves!
Bloodthirsty Captain // Napoleonica: Steel And Magic
With the swarm being unleashed on Earth after the events of the French Revolution and rifts being opened all across Europe, every nation has found themselves having to answer the call and under the guidance of Magician Countess Saint Germain, perhaps they might be able to stop the forces of Chaos. With the help of some new Fae allies, you might be able to turn the tide!
Cavalry // Napoleonica: Steel And Magic
When it comes to factions, we've been introduced to four so far. You have the French Republic still led by Napoleon Bonaparte and the British Empire led by Duke Wellington. The French use their combination of wizards and scientists to great effect whilst the British are able to draw on the Celtic powers of the isle of Albion to aid them in their battles.
Wolfen // Napoleonica: Steel And Magic
There are also the Legions Of The Abyss, as well as the British and the French. These are the scary fairy tale creatures and nightmares that you would know from folklore tales. These are the fearsome creatures of Chaos that are looking to tear their way into our reality and claim it for themselves.
Last but not least, we have The Alliance Of Nephilim who are the united Fae forces hoping to hold back the Legions Of The Abyss, perhaps with the aid of the mortals that are somewhat on the back foot!
As you'll have seen here, Signum Games has done some great work already when it comes to the artwork and miniature design for Napoleonica. I really like the mix of Historical and Fantasy and I could see folks being particularly intrigued by this, especially with more of the Fae elements in play that could be fun to paint up!
Will you be snapping up Napoleonica: Steel And Magic when it comes to Kickstarter?

that’s…. interesting. Somehow. Odd but interesting.
Beautiful and splendid but a pass for me. Silver Bayonet and actual Napoleonics is enough at the moment. It is like my wallet is being tortured by the Spanish Inquisition on a stretching rack! – How much can it take?
Interesting but Flintloque is already my go to Fantasy Napoleonic.
New models are always interesting, particularly if in an area less well travelled. I had quite a collection of Flintloque in years gone by and I’m not sure I want the full game experience here, but I will probably pick up some models from the Fae faction for Silver Bayonet.
ooh fab looking.
