The Monstrous Thresher Abomination Stomps Into Para Bellum’s Conquest
November 17, 2017 by brennon
Para Bellum Wargames have shared another morsel of awesomeness with us for their game Conquest. Here we have the Thresher Abomination which will come in the Core Set for the game.
The Thresher Abomination is, of course, one of the creations of The Spire, another of their clone experiments which has turned into this terrifying beast with scything claws and twisted muscles capable of ripping opponents to shreds.
It's a fascinating looking model and I like the way they've mixed different styles together into the piece with the almost bug-like back half of the model and the semi-draconic look to the rest of the model. The paint job is also great and really highlights the focal points of the piece.
We also have some more fluff and background on the beast...
Within the body of these Abominations dwells an Exile, one that has displeased those higher up the chain of command. Originally a source of torment, it has now been harnessed for the battlefield as an unstoppable beast, howling with rage at its eternal anguish.
What do you think?
"Within the body of these Abominations dwells an Exile, one that has displeased those higher up the chain of command..."
a nice ant monster for games.
Now THAT is how I pictured the minis for this game! Awesome paint job on a really cool looking mini.
That looks very nice.
Creepy… in a good way. Kinda has a Kingdom Death vibe to it, except for the six boobs and penises for ears.
I hope that’s no the only pose for the arms.
I love it.
You forgot to mention that this 7″ tall beast is going to be included in the starter set (on hard plastic sprue)
😀 so looking forward to this game
Funny, unlike some of the earlier examples we saw, I really, really like this paint job. It captures the style and mood of the art.
I don’t especially like the actual model though. I like elements of it a lot, including the face and the body of the bug, but the arm muscles look weird to me and the legs look very awkward.
Still, interesting seeing where this is going.
