Hobday Shares Eerie Previews For 2020 Footsore Project
December 17, 2019 by brennon
Andy Hobday has been sharing some more concept artwork for another mainline Footsore Miniatures & Games project which is going to be popping up next year. See what you make of these creepy pieces of art which are going to be turned into miniatures.
The concept art here was been done by the very talented and clearly wild mind of John Wigley and are going to be crafted into miniatures which are a little bigger than 28mm in scale according to chatter on Facebook.
More previews are lined-up for the early part of 2020 and they have also talked about running demo games at UK Games Expo next year. So, that means these models are going to be finding their way to the tabletop at some point! I absolutely love their weird range of creepy creatures which have been dragged from the depths.
There is something strange about the models (well, of course) and they look tied into the kind of artwork that you might have seen floating about in scripture around the Middle Ages and Medieval period. I hope that this is just the vanguard of a more terrifying force of the undead which is rising from the ground.
If nothing else, these creatures are going to be exceptionally awesome to paint. Footsore Miniatures & Games have been doing some sterling work over the past few months on projects both for the Historical and slightly more Fantastical realms so it will be fun to see what happens with these!
What do you think of this early concept art?

Saw a piece earlier this year that intrigued me. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye for it
My thoughts when reading this post, in order: “What on earth is that?” “Holy moley, that is terrifying!!!” “…Can I have more, please?” Seriously, it’s like Keith Thompson’s artwork in miniature form, and I love it.
Very reminiscent of medieval depictions of Hell, or the work of Hieronimus Bosch. I can think of a few projects I have bubbling away that these would be perfect for.
Refreshingly surreal look to this creatures. If the mini’s capture the artwork I’ll be adding a few new gribblies to my collection.
They could have been ripped out of Constantine’s hell by the looks of them.
Good creepy fun! Can’t wait for the mini’s!
Reminds me of Lovecraft, the Black Cauldron and a double whammy of Del Toro at the end. Not bad things at all to say the least.
