Durgin Paint Forge Go Hunting Magical Artefacts With The Gimorians
June 20, 2018 by brennon
Durgin Paint Forge has introduced another new awesome character to their collection. Here we have one of the Gimorian Mages alongside his young Apprentice and a tricksy little set of creatures, the Flonzi!
The Gimorians are the magical archaeologists of the world and whilst magic is slowly dying within this fantasy world, they are determined to find out places where power still remains. As you can see they can be quite single-minded in their pursuit of magical power, at the expense of their hapless Apprentices!
The Flonzi are some of the Elf-kin in Durgin's fantasy world and whilst not true Elves they do take from their lineage and are spiteful little scamps. They appear wherever there is magic and cause mischief and all sorts of nonsense to occur.
Whilst they can be annoying the upside is that wherever you find Flonzi, you find magic. I am very much reminded of the world of Fable with these characters here and I love the whimsical nature of the sculpts overall. It is full of character, charm and fairytale-style magic. I didn't even notice the Mage stepping on the face of that hapless Flonzi at the front!
I think this would be an awesome little vignette/diorama piece to paint up, full of rich colours and such.
What do you make of the sculpts?

I love the gas goblin getting stepped on, loads of character!
Oh… I love these.
I love the whimsical stuff like this because I believe our hobby takes things way to serious sometimes.
