Steamforged Games Invite You To Dark Souls Again With New Title
August 11, 2017 by thisisazrael
After their success with Dark Souls: The Board Game, Steamforged Games have announced a new game in the world of Dark Souls.
Dark Souls: The Card Game is a cooperative deck evolution card game for 1-4 players.
Players will get the chance to take on the role of a Hero, the Herald, Sorcerer, Assassin or Knight, each with their own unique abilities and starting decks.
Players will use cards to gain stamina and use equipment but the trick is that your deck represents your health, and if depleted you will die.
Fear not though, as getting your discarded cards back will come via the ever supportive bonfires.
Bonfires will also give you a chance to trade cards with your party and improve your deck to counter your foes.
Players will explore paths of increasing difficulty and varied monsters until they get to the predictably big nasty at the end.
The trailer warns that as ever with Dark Souls, you should "prepare to die" as the great foes will have unpredictable attacks and moves with the potential to enrage.
The game comes with over 400 cards, is available for pre-order now and is expected to release in February 2018.

In a way this interests me more than the board game ….. can’t put my finger on why…… it certainly looks interesting…. and it’s not a CCG …(which ranks right up there with random packed pre-painted models in crap plastic)
