Andromarchos // Conquest

The Andromarchos are great Officer options for you to tag onto your regiments like the Thorakites and Agema. They allow you to build on the aggression of these units and push them on to great feats of heroism on the tabletop.  They allow you to re-roll failed Hit Rolls when Activating out of your army's strategic stack.

The miniature is also awesome and comes with plenty of blades at the ready. I like the "face me" pose that he is in, calling out his enemy for death. He might also be pointing out the next target for his unit to destroy.

New City States Units

Two units are also available for you to pick up starting with the Clockwork Hoplites.

City States - Clockwork Hoplites // Conquest

These powerful automata are a terrifying and uncanny force to be reckoned with. They have serious good attacks and, being clockwork, are quite resilient and don't have to take resolve tests. Sit these warriors on an objective and watch them hold it all day long.

The miniatures look great and I think these would be a brilliant painting project as well as being handy for use in games. I quite like the idea of painting some of them up as ancient veterans, covered in rust and signs of constant battle. Others could then be painted to look brand-spanking new, fresh out of the forges.

If you're looking for more defensive troops but made of flesh and muscle, you can also get your hands on the Sacred Band.

City States - Sacred Band // Conquest

These warriors are champions in their own right and units are made of those who have competed in the Pan Kratian Games. This means that they are particularly well-honed individuals who have been training almost all of their lives.

In combat, they are highly defensive and can also cast spells if you so desire. They are good at holding objectives (much like the Clockwork Hoplites) and can even heal themselves which gives them even more staying power. Your enemy will need to commit a lot of damage their way to take them down.
