More Godtear Champions Hit The Internet This Week
April 4, 2018 by brennon
Steamforged Games has been sharing more new Godtear Champions across the internet this week. We start with one that really caught my attention when we first saw him, Raeth’Marid, The Rising Tsunami.
Anything that adds Dragonborn-style warriors into the mix always gets my vote and I love that we have a very elemental focused champion here. The stance of Raeth'Marid is the key here as well. While I liked the look of the original artwork, I do prefer it when big character models are actually DOING something. In this case, he's roaring a battle cry!
Secondly, we have Mournblade, The Ashen One who will no doubt make Lloyd sit up and take notice of this game. Skeletons are always great, but skeletons with balefire floating about their person take things to the next level.
I am very much reminded of the look of the undead in Fable and Fable II.
Next up we turn our attention to a cute little lady with Galana The Crystalmancer. Again, we're looking towards the idea of elemental warriors here and that is an enticing prospect for someone delving into the game.
You get to do something awesome with the painting here where it's nice and simple to paint but still look amazing. Is it just me or does Galana also look like she has a bit of hidden malice under that hood?
Last but not least we have the awesome Sneeki Peet. Every game needs some goblins and it's nice to see that they've hit the right note with the design here, getting that level of comic brutality just right.
Have any of these new Champions grabbed your attention? With the Kickstarter coming up very soon you'll have a chance to delve into lots more about the game.
What do you think?

Those look really good.
love the skeleton’s an the monsters in the different factions.
As SFG stated the game will be factionless. So how about those gobbers joining the undead champion as a sort of 80’s cartoon minions.
I really like the Goblin and Gnome teams. The Plastic version of the Dragonman who plays Association football for a Spainish club is a lot nicer than the metal ones also
I like those goblins
Do like the champion, goblin is my choice pick, I even like the gnome (despite generally believing they should not exist)
On Gno !! You are a Gnomist!!!! …….*sigh
Ain’t got Gn room for them in my heart
Gnow you tell me. If only I had Gnown earlier i would have been more sympathetic to your plight.
Planning no …….. I am planning on selling 2, in my defense I did have one of every fantasy battle army. I ws also young …
Good to see it funded in less than an hour. I’ll be interested to see what they have planned
@beardragon14 I backed it, all announced champions are unlocked, a few of the plastics I really like, may need a second set for Blackjaw, and don’t hate me, Lorsayne
I really like the difference in the sculpts between the metals and the plastics ….. and it’s only one Elf warband I mean it’s not like you are planning an army of them ……………………ARE YOU???????
See reply above cause I am a muppet
I was kind of sceptical (yet another small skirmish game).
However now that I’ve looked at what they want to do with the game I do like it.
The Guild ball design influence is obvious.
I’m tempted to describe this as chess mixed with a skirmish wargame…
A roleplaying style progression Chess/Skirmish wargame …..(yes it sounds odd when you say it) 😀
Maybe you don’t wanna voice these heretical words and keep it in your head. Then again, these days you never know if there’s mind inquisition…
You know I strongly suspect there is …… *looks from side to side*
